A Hidden Gem

Pension Sofi is a hidden gem in Prague. Although we are seniors, we didn’t mind using public transport, which is free! Plan your route ahead. The location is quiet and comfortable. The only downside was tugging our heavy luggage up a flight of stairs off the street. Phone access is necessary for an entry code. This was our second stay.

The room was just what we needed for our short stay. The bed was huge, plenty of room to hang our clothes and a big chest of drawers with a tv on top. Everywhere was clean. I was happy with the cleanliness of the toilets and showering facilities. It’s in a lovely quiet area, near to a shop and Chinese restaurant. The Uber into Prague was about £6.

The person who greeted us allowed us to drop our bags prior to check-in, which allowed us to explore the area and get acclimated to our surroundings. The kitchen had a microwave sink, and a hot pot. Having access to a stove would’ve been helpful. The shared toilet and shower rooms were clean.Staff was friendly and kind. The room was clean and offered drawers and hanging options for clothing. There was a a table and 2 chairs in the room. The only draw back was that the paint on the wall would leave residue on clothing if you happened to rub against it.

Good value for money

Location is in residential area with payable street parking. Room was bright (I personally would prefer blackout curtains) and with basic need furniture and an air fan (no AC). There was a refrigerator and kitchenette with all the necessities - which was handy.

Es war schwierig, ins Haus zu kommen. Wir hatten mit der Benützung des Safes Schwierigkeiten. Das Waschbecken im WC/Bad sollte größer sein. Sonst alles sehr gut. Danke.

Kvalita jak pobytu i personálu výborná. Velká nespokojenost s "utajením" místa penzionu. Žádná reklama ani informační tabule! Například na rohu Domu barev nebo nákupního střediska Ahold!! Protože jsem pracně a s pomocí místních občanů se dostel k pensionu. Protože ulice Nová cesta je opravdu zastrčená mezi okolními domy. Netuším jak by ji našel taxikář.

Funktionale Unterkunft für kleines Geld

Sowohl Check In als auch Check out war komplett problemlos. Das Zimmer war sauber und Handtücher waren auch dabei. Auch die Gemeinschaftsräume und Badezimmer waren sauber und da gab es nichts zu beanstanden. Die Rezeption war während unseres Aufenthaltes nicht besetzt und somit hatten wir keinen Ansprechpartner, hätten ihn aber auch nicht gebraucht, da wie gesagt alles gepasst hat. Das Haus ist von außen eher unscheinbar und ist auch innen eher funktional gehalten. Parkplätze gibt es direkt vor der Tür und WLAN funktioniert! Die nächste Metro Station ist zu Fuß in circa 10 Minuten zu erreichen und dann braucht man noch circa 20 Minuten in die Innenstadt - für uns aber völlig zu verschmerzen! Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich super und wir können einen Aufenthalt, bei dem man keinen Luxus oder rund um die Uhr Betreuung erwartet, absolut empfehlen!!
