The reception is on the first floor and there is only one slow lift, which is heavily used by people going to the large top floor bar/restaurant. The hotel only issues one mechanical key per room so you have to leave the key at reception if you are doing separate things from your partner and this is a big nuisance. You cannot go out and lock the door if your partner is asleep i n the room as this deadlocks your partner in the room, a situation which should not be allowed. There are stairs everywhere, including to the bathroom, which can be hazardous at night, so the place could be very difficult for disabled people. I had to get on my hands and knees and use a torch to use the safe. Our room (number 31) had no view, which disappointed us, but the room was spacious, quiet, and beautifully furnished. The buffet breakfast was excellent. We had dinner in their outdoor restaurant and the waiter was probably the rudest we have ever dealt with and my meal, a veal dish, was very bad.. We have previously stayed at the nearby Hotel Rott and thought that the Hotel Rott was much better. However, despite all the faults, the U Prince is in a great location and and I would still recommend it.
