About this property
FARM-TO-TABLE eating, good hot tub soak, S'mores around fire pit, seasonal POOL!
We are pleased to once again offer our ever-popular home-away-from-home, fully-appointed, secluded guest apartment with full kitchen, laundry, and private entrance. Newly added: propane "wood" stove! Queen bedroom, king bed in large alcove off living room, and comfy (no kidding) double pull-out sofa in recently redecorated and enlarged LR. Fully stocked kitchen/DR combination with all appliances including dishwasher and microwave. Entrance is through a heated mudroom storage for skis, boots, and all manner of sports gear. Bathroom with double shower, washer and dryer. Large closets, cable TV, DVD, CD stereo. Fenced in brick courtyard for outdoor grilling / dining and just-added private fire pit around the corner next to the newly-installed deck for hot tub. Large yard, POOL in season. Second apartment available for additional guests.
Convenient to Williamstown, MA (6 miles) and to Bennington, VT (6 miles); both with scores of recreational, entertainment, culinary, and cultural venues. Many agri-tourism opportunities, farm-to-table dining, world class art galleries and cultural venues, superb hiking and river rafting and boating, top drawer theater festival, and regional theater, an authentic drive-in theater AND a destination diner.
Where else can you stay and choose to go to Saratoga Raceway one day, hear the Boston Symphony (or James Taylor) at Tanglewood the next, go white-water kayaking on the Battenkill after that, then see a Broadway touring company at Proctors one night and a first run production at the Williamstown Theater Festival the next, hike the AT the next day and maybe even the day after that (we have two access points), and then wrap it all up with a shopping spree at one of our premium outlet centers? There is so much to do here, if you spent the entire summer, you couldn't do it all.
Dog permitted under most circumstances. Please request the Doggie Dos and Don'ts and tell us something about your pet!

This property has it all - a pool, hot tub, fire pit, and spacious indoor to have fun with friends and family! We were here for two nights and did not want to leave. Hope to be back soon!
We loved our time here. Great for kids as long as they're not too young (ours are 4 and 7). Surprisingly roomy, well appointed, and very well maintained.
This is a great stay in Pownal and exactly as described. Rustic and unique - i would stay here again if I come back to the area. The hot tub is well cared for and the kitchen is stocked. Thanks !
My partner, puppy and I came up for a long weekend whilst attending a podcast festival in North Adams. Sandy, the property manager, was a total gem. We were spoiled with the most beautiful mid-October weather, but the energy/aesthetic of the Garden apartment was the cherry on top of an incredible weekend.
Property was clean and everything was as listed. Good value for the $ compared to other nearby places.
We never received the information from the property owner re: code to get in, but when I called, she was very responsive and got the onsite manager there within minutes.
Great location for activities in nearby Bennington, VT, as well as Williamstown and N. Adams, Mass.
We loved staying here! The place was spotless, comfortable and well stocked. There was a small issue with the lockbox when we arrived, but after a quick phone call Sandy arrived and all was well. The location is great - we visited both the Clark and MassMoca while we were there. Of course, it was wonderful to have the hot tub. The pool looked inviting, but the weather was too cold and damp for us to take advantage of it. Would happily stay here again.

Pleasant stay
Nice outdoor sitting area. Lovely pool. Rooms are a bit dark. Not enough windows to open. Traffic sounds at certain times of the day pretty bad but quiet later 11 or so.
This is going to be a bit of a weird review. We were supposed to stay here but the catastrophic VT rains left some dampness in part of the space so the owner upgraded us to the unexpectedly empty upstairs barn apartment. So first let me tell you what is the same: Hot tub and pool, delightful. Fire pit and huge lawn, wonderful. Easy access, right of the road and near great places in MA and VT but you could just hang out here and escape it all. The road is close but still very private. Owner is super nice and communicative and Sandy the manager is just fantastic. And if the downstairs is anything like the upstairs, just know that the pictures are exactly what you get so I would trust the downstairs is as perfect as the upstairs. If you are bringing pets, they were so nice and accommodating. The rules are crystal clear and they even laid out sheets so our dogs could sit on one of the sofas with us! We'd absolutely come again!
We were grateful to have this vrbo as a back up to our original vacation that was cancelled due to a hurricane. we booked in on a friday and checked in on a monday. it was a good size for our family of 6. however the ceilings were low and my husband is 6'3". the only bathroom had a small shower (definitely not good if you are a larger person) with no grip bars and was too slippery for my 70 yr old mother in law. the bathroom also created a lot of humidity as there was no window. however, there was a dehumidifier that we had to empty almost every day. no A/C in the back bedroom (near the bathroom)made it uncomfortable at night. However Sandy made our check in very simple and she even met us early. she was available via text and responded quickly whenever we needed anything. the pool was great but the trees near it created a little too much shade for us. otherwise it was a great little apartment that was 10-15 minutes away from shops and entertainment. great spot if you are looking to get away and have some peace and quiet.
We had a great stay at this spot. We loved the fireplace heater inside, and the hot tub out back. Great visit to the Williamstown area to see our sons at college.
This unique hideaway was great for our family. The open layout might not work for everyone, but suited us just fine! We were only here a couple nights but enjoyed the location and using the hot tub!
The unit was large with plenty of room to move around. It's listed as a one bedroom, but it's one and a very large alcove with a king bed, so there's plenty of sleeping space. The kitchen is large. We did have to purchase some things to accommodate our eating. The temperature was great and the outside quite nice. Although there was a large hot tub, we didn't use it, but would have had we had more time. The only real problem we had was check in. But the communication with the property manager was good. Sandy is very friendly and helpful.
Nice place, just what we were looking for to stay the weekend.

The rental was adequate but the kitchen was older, despite the cabinets being painted and the hardware being replaced. The appliances need replacing, including the coffee pot, and the seal around the kitchen sink had mildew, which made cooking unappealing. The hot tub was a nice addition, however, it snowed while we were there making the steps to get in and out slippery and very cold. Also, there is a rental unit above this ground floor unit, and if people walk on the floor late at night, which happened to us, you can hear their footsteps, which woke up our dog who felt protective of us. Primary bedroom was comfortable enough, but the second bed in the back of the unit was less comfortable. The nice part was that we could bring our dog and there was a grassy area right outside the door where you could walk her. The property is very close to the road so we kept her on leash the whole time, although if your dog is well trained, that may not be an issue. It’s adequate for a short stay to get away but probably not for a longer vacation.
Got this place to have a nice relaxing weekend and it was perfect. The hot tub was perfect and even though it is next to a busy road we heard nothing. Our 4legged boy was happy here too, we're definitely coming back!!
We loved staying at this property. The hot tub was amazing! We had so much fun after hiking soaking in the hot tub. The house was in a beautiful section of VT. We will definitely be back
The place was perfect for us. There were 3 beds all clean. The pool and hot tub were great. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere but things aren’t a that far of a drive from there. I will definitely keep this place in mind for future.
My husband and I enjoyed this property and location for a 3 day trip to Vermont. We were roughly 10 minutes from downtown Bennington, where we enjoyed numerous local restaurants. After a day of exploring and hiking in the area, the hot tub was a perfect way to relax and end our day. Everyone we met was so friendly, and we hope to return to Vermont in the future!
This was our second stay at this location and each time is a great experience. We love brining our pets and just enjoying some down time. The hot tub alone is worth the price of admission. I’m sure we will be back again
It was comfortable, conveniently located and welcoming. Sue was terrific - it was so easy to arrive and to check out. Thank you!!!

All the comforts of home
We were very comfortable in this cozy apartment with all the comforts of home. It was perfect for our small family of three and wonderful that we could bring our dog too. We skied each day and cooked in every night. Enjoyed the hot tub too! Immaculate with fresh towels and sheets - a great place to stay to enjoy the Berkshires and southern Vermont.

Great stay for graduation in Williamstown
Large comfortable clean apartment less than 10 minutes to Williamstown. Write up and pics were accurate and friendly owners made us feel right at home. Too bad we did not have more time to chat with Pat and her husband as we were busy with graduation at Williams college to the south. This property is way better than the similarly priced motels nearby .
