"We stayed at the Marmalade for 2 nights. We rented a car as we drove the Scottish highlands, parking was always available and just steps from the entrance of the hotel. This was a big plus as some other hotels in Portree don’t have designated parking. When you pull up, it looks like a simple hotel. Once you walk in , it’s immediately cozy and nicely decorated. Staff was very nice and attentive. Check in was a breeze. Since there are no elevators , staff helped us with our luggage up the stairs....

"Location wise this place was perfect, especially for the price point. It’s older so the amenities are a little outdated but we weren’t bothered (our bathroom was recently updated so that was a bonus). No onsite parking but seems the whole town parks at the community centre for no charge (about a 3 min walk from hotel). The pillows were horrible though so be warned."

"My wife and I enjoyed our stay and the property is in a great location, close to all the restaurants and shops. The view from our room was beautiful. The bathroom could use some updating but other than that it was a great value."
