This is a very majestic Old hotel makes me think of the great roaring 20s huge and ornate! It lacks maintenance and upgrades! The pools are huge! It’s a grand old hotel ,
This was a huge place and in its day would have been something to see. I love the old architecture and wood work . It is a little run down outside bit inside has been updated . The pool area is amazing . The food was good the rooms were big and roomy. we enjoyed our stay
It’s spesive and is not a resort. Everything is too old. All inclusive expensive and they try to charge extra, like you can not have a snack double and they count your food and drinks even they charge you
Good hotel, one of the best looking hotels is Colon. The management can do some improvement such as the all inclusive meals are kinda of repetitive. Overall for the price is a GREAT deal.
It could be great with the right ownership and management. Room 1347 is an 'Expedia Room', stay clean, everything was broken and dirty, with a terrible view, in an empty hotel. Service and food was poor, staff poorly trained. Unfortently, no other decent choices in Colon.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. The rooms are horrible. No hot water. No amenities. The bed came from a prison. There were insects and bed bugs. The walls are thin and I could hear the people in the next room. I once stayed in a Cuban prison which was nicer than this hotel. AND, they double charged me for the room and won't give my money back. I would rather die than stay in this horrible place.
MANTENTE LEJOS DE ESTE HOTEL. Las habitaciones son horribles. No hay agua caliente No hay comodidades. La cama provenía de una prisión. Había insectos y chinches. Las paredes son delgadas y pude escuchar a la gente en la habitación de al lado. Una vez estuve en una prisión cubana que era más bonita que este hotel. Y, me cobraron dos veces por la habitación y no me devolverán el dinero. Prefiero morir que quedarme en este horrible lugar.
There was mold on my first room and the second one there was a mouse besides the mold that this other room has as well. By the time they offered to change rooms it was at midnight. We had a funeral next day and we were just trying to get some sleep. The AC I’m both of the rooms didn’t function properly. Sweated most of the nights.

Mil cosas mal, desastre total, lo penoso del tema es que voy cada 15 dias a Colon por 3 dias , mi proxima estadía dare la ultima oportunidad como opción de estancia.
Tons of broken stuff. Our first night the room smelled bad then in morning no hot water. Switched rooms and that ac was not great and broken window latch and safe. All around the complex things are in bad shape. Broken roof tiles all over. Meaty bathrooms at the pool and so on. 3 star would be pushing it for hotel rating. I bet it was so nice 10 years ago.
The staff is not trained well enough to deal with exceptions. They do not think for themselves. When the problems were brought to the manager's attention, his remarks each time were along the lines, "That is an easy solution. That should not have happened."
There was a large variety of entrees to choose from the buffet. However, the price for lunch was only $1 less than dinner and the price for the same food went up by 16% on the weekend. Also, there did not seem to be a set price for some items. For example, I ordered two (2) cans of soda the first day and it was $3 apiece. The next day it was cheaper.
Nice hotel clean nice staff but is far from the city its location is more for leisure trips not for business trips

Too noisy, furniture in the room not in good condition, not a great variety of food, there is a certain smell that continues to plague this hotel. The staff was great, very courteous and helpful.

Each and every stay in this hotel has always been wonderful. Love the location. The hotel itself has this peaceful feeling you would think it is a retreat. The rooms are big and the view is amazing. The outdoor pool is also beautiful. The staff is excellent and very helpful.

Front desk staff lacking in knowledge and very uncooperative.
This hotel was paid through Expedia with a cc, even after they saw the receipt they told my clients they had not received the funds and made them paid again.

It was a great stay. Although the hotel is under construction, the hotel and its features: the pool, the lake are all gorgeous.
The only caveat is the limited food offerings at the hotel. However some nights offered great food options while others didn’t. Still had a great time overall and would stay again!

The first day we got to Melia Hotel we weren’t sure how our stay was going to be. The room had a very strange smell. I guess you could say it was like a foreigner coming to the US and smelling Pine Sol for the first time. The hotel itself was beautiful on the inside, but could use some roof repairs on the tile roof outside.
We only spoke English, but the staff tried their best to figure out what we were saying. Sometimes it led to a good laugh. I would recommend Melia Panamá Canal, but brush up on your basic Spanish before coming.
The pool area was very clean and well kept.
The hotel is in a secluded area and hard to find since street signs do not exist in Panama. A mapping app is required to get around anywhere in Panama.

We relaxed and had a GREAT time. We enjoyed our visit to Hotel Melia very much and would defiantly stay again. Rooms were clean, staff were very nice. The restaurant was very good. We enjoyed the very nice pools and the grounds were beautiful.

Secluded
This is a very old hotel but it’s OK. It is very secluded, the girls are nice but they need to do more. They need to renovate the grounds and make it more inviting. The hotel has a lot of potential but I don’t think over the years they have done much with it there is only one restaurant on site, No vending machines, and the hotel lacks liveliness. The staff there are wonderful!!

Quiet beautiful pool. But the WiFi never worked for someone like me who works through computer it is very bad. But receptionist are very helpful!. Our clothing iron didn’t work and they replaced it in a timely fashion. Our room was cleaned but no towels were left and they took care of it. You

The resort is quite old and can be cleaner. While our room was clean, the bedding was old. Dining options are limited to buffet with no other options on site. I would recommend a simple menu in the bar for lighter meals or coffee

My experience was great. Staff was nice an made my daughters an I 12 day vacation comfortable. I will stay there again. But please fix the wifi. A bartender is needed at wet bar at all times when you have guess.
