Quiet and relaxing

My family had a great time staying at this property. It was extremely clean! We enjoyed being secluded and not in a typical neighborhood. It was quiet and relaxing. Would definitely stay again.

Home Away from Home

We lived in this house when our kids were little and it's great to be able to visit again. We're building & wanted to spend Christmas in a real house (not our camper) and this was prefect! We love this area and this farm.

Perfect little getaway place

This is an awesome little house surrounded by rollings hills and tranquil beauty. The house has many modern amenities and upgrades yet still feels warm and cozy. The property owner is great and she is wonderful to communicate with. She even went out of her way to give my daughter a "taste" of farm life by asking the neighbors to accommodate us and show her the ropes. Easy travel to/from Nashville, Bowling Green, Mammoth Cave, etc. We really loved it, thank you!

Country Roads

This house was lovely, clean and very well stocked. We love sunrises, sunsets and watching the stars at night. Actually saw a shooting star the first night. The location of this house is perfect for all of the above. Be prepared for winding country roads. And lots of driving. We took a lot of the owners suggestions of “don’t miss” locations and had a great time!

great family trip!

The house is wonderful! We enjoyed all the peace and quiet. Lots of family time spent outside. We had a couple of rainy days so we put a puzzle together and played the game "trouble" for hours with a lot of laughter. Enjoyed a visit to the Distillery and a day in Nashville ( only 30 minutes away). The reason for our visit was to watch our son play baseball for the Franklin Duelers!! Our stay was so much more that anticipated. Thank you Lila and Sue

Quiet, remote home

The house was very nicely decorated. Host was pleasant, responsive and easy to work with. Home could use some cleaning and the outside furniture (hanging chair, etc.) is not on a porch next to house but out in the lawn. That in itself is fine but there was no cushion on swinging chair, as pictured not an overhead covering. There was bird poop on a variety of the chairs and no hammock that was useable. Also, no reading light readily available or a comfy chair. One comfy chair but it is in one of the bedroom. Other than that, nice rental.

Perfect getaway

Driving to the house we were a bit nervous because of the distance away from the town of Portland and being from south Florida we aren’t use to all the curvy roads so the initial ride was leading up to a beautiful field and home. The house is perfectly sat in the middle of a large field of corn and I think hay, tons of yard for the kids to go on adventures and explore. Every morning we were able to see some type of animal (skunk fox rabbits and birds) during coffee on the beautiful porch. The house if fully stocked with the things you really need has an open concept living and kitchen area so it felt so big and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable. And we found a cute store down the road that serves breakfast. Also found that Franklin KY was a closer drive than Portland and had the cutest shops. Overall this house was perfect large enough for a family of 6 and if needed the yard is perfect for a family gathering or reunion. Lila the owner is by far one of the most hospitable owners I’ve ever dealt with she made this trip memorable. This is for sure a must see and for us a we will be back!

The location of the home was very nice and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and saw several deer in the fields each evening. Plenty of space for everyone and the kitchen was well equipped. My only reason for giving a rating of 3 is that the couch cushions were pretty worn out so sitting inside wasn’t very comfortable and the queen mattress in the back room sunk into the middle of bed.

Great location. Farm land all around the property. Quiet and peaceful with lots of birds singing all day. Exactly as described. The house had all we needed and was roomy with extras that were appreciated. We will definitely be staying again. Thank you, Lila.

Peaceful stay, not returning

Overall, we had a good time but would not return. Check-in was great and the location is private and peaceful. The house is spacious, we enjoyed playing cards, games and exploring the area. It’s clear the home was once lovely, with higher-end furnishings and thoughtful design choices. However, it’s quite rough around the edges at this stage and needs care, updates and deep clean. One of the bedrooms had a strong urine smell, so we left that door closed since we only needed two rooms. The bedding looked clean but had a strong musty odor we couldn’t tolerate. I rewashed the bedding and that resolved the issue. One blanket had a hole larger than a quarter with stuffing coming out. More attention to these details is needed so repairs and replacements can be made. We loved the large kitchen, plenty of counter space and lovely windows. The Nespresso machine was a wonderful touch and got daily use. However, all the pans were so scratched we didn’t feel comfortable using them—we ended up buying a cheap set at Walmart. The oven is small, outdated, and doesn’t work well. On a positive note, the dishwasher, washer, and dryer worked great. The fridge’s ice maker wasn’t functional, so we purchased a bag of ice. Also, when the bathtub drains, it backs up into the shower, which was unpleasant. In summary, the home is in a great location, beautifully decorated, and has potential, but it needs maintenance and more attention to detail.

If you are looking for "quiet in the country", this is your stay.

Let me start by saying that our host for this stay is probably the most friendly and communicative host I've ever encountered. At EVERY step of the way (including a last minute extension request) she was quick, responsive, and accommodating. Inside, this is a standard well furnished single level country HOME. 3BR, 2Bath with a NICE jacuzzi tub in the main bath, The host allows use of the garage, which in my experience is a rarity and much appreciated. (starting your stay without having to unload in the cold or rain is a DEFINATE plus!) The kitchen is VERY well stocked with just about every appliance you could want for your stay, including rarities such as a crock pot and blender. The host is also kind enough to include a nespresso and pods with a quick note about which pods are which "intensity" so if you choose the high test, whatever happens next is on you! lol Outside is a large yard (unfenced) In the front is a south facing porch where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets or sunrises with your coffee if you're a proper early riser. :)In the back, there is an area with a picnic table, and anther with a fire ring and comfy chairs to relax and watch the deer in the evenings. If you don't watch the deer doing their deer thing at least one evening, you're really missing out.Do note that the curtains in the bedrooms are sheers, so if you're a late sleeper, bring your sleep mask!I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here. 12/10 will do again!

Romantic or Family Getaway!

A lovely and very comfortable country home with modern conveniences. Perfect for a romantic or family getaway. Wide open outdoor space makes for spectacular sunsets and sunrises. A quiet place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the countryside with plenty of birds and deer to watch and room to play. Lila, the host of the family farm/property is awesome. Annual Birthday Trip

Our trip was wonderful. The house sits in a quiet serene location, but close enough for us to go to the races at Kentucky Downs, see the show Shiners in Nashville, visit Mammoth Cave, and have some bourbon tasting in Bardstown. This is my favorite destination, and plan to return annually as long as Lila will have us.

Christmas Gathering

Wonderful Weekend in the Farmland

We have stayed on this property while visiting our daughter and family, during numerous occasions. We love the location and ranch-style home. Roomy and well-equipped. I am very happy with the cleanliness of the home this time. Seemed more effort given to cleaning. We had a great weekend and will be staying there again. We were only able to stay one of two nights paid, and hopefully will be able to relax next visit for the full three days! Looking forward to it. Lovely area.
