There is free street parking in the neighborhood that may be challenging to find during the busier summer months. 2) Our units sleep 6 in beds and up to 8 with an air mattress that we supply. 3) Because of increasing costs, we have an additional per person charge or guests that exceed 5 people. The property was perfect for us: We could walk to restaurants, bars, and museums, and we enjoyed the neighborhood setting and how close we were to the water. We would love to stay there again.
We really enjoyed our stay on Munjoy Hill. The location couldn't be better - able to walk to restaurants, Eastern Promenade, the beach, and Old Port, right from the apartment. The apartment itself worked well for our intergenerational family trip - with comfortable seating, a full dining room, three bedrooms (two with window air conditioning units), a well-stocked kitchen, and two full baths. We appreciate that Nick was quickly responsive when we needed him to arrange for a plumber during our stay, too.
Great space with updated furnishings and all the amenities that you need for a get away. Very quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the old port, beach and many breweries. It was just the right fit for our party of 7 and Nick was a great host. I highly recommend this property and would stay here again!!
Perfect location for a couples getaway - walkable to everything, easy to access and very spacious. The place was clean and tidy. Arranging for off-street parking at the last minute was easy and painless. There aren't any "accoutrements" (like coffee, milk, etc.) as was listed in the posting, but most places don't have those things anyway. I would definitely stay here again!
This was an excellent choice for us. We were close to the downtown area and the trails for running. Easy to get around and out of town. Place was clean and easy to use. Adequate household supplies. House rule book was a great source of information.
Comfortable space in a great neighborhood with easy street parking. Short walk to downtown and water. Responsive owner who is eager to have guests’ needs met.
Four of us really enjoyed the comfortable apartment and the location was wonderful. We were able to walk to all the places we wanted to go. So close to the Eastern Promenade and 1 mile to Old Port. The property owner, Nick, was so helpful and great to work with.
Great location! Can walk to so many places from this spot. The observatory, East Promenade beach and food trucks and Old Port are all in walking distance. We also didn’t have an issue finding parking either. The unit was perfect for our family of five. We’d stay here again the next time we’re in Portland!
Great area, so close to so many things. Promenade just a few blocks away, nice for a morning or envening stroll. Lovely older 3 story home. We had a second floor apartment. Comfortable and very clean with 2 baths and a stackable washer/ dryer. Hosts were very easy to communicate with. A great stay!
This space was comfortable, clean, and perfect for gathering with our family in Portland. We slept so well in the quiet neighborhood and enjoyed watching residents walk their dogs towards the nearby Eastern Promenade. Nick, the owner, was incredibly responsive and welcoming. We had everything we needed and would happily stay again. Thank you for your warm hospitality, Nick!
We had a great stay at this property. It was in a quiet residential area close enough to walk to downtown. Also very close to little markets and shops and easy access to 295. Everything was easy about check in and check out.
My feedback is that the place needs rugs in the bedrooms and living rooms and the main bathroom would benefit from an upgrade.
The owner, Nick, was pleasant and easy to communicate with.
We (four adults, one toddler) really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment has all the amenities you need, and the layout is lovely (particularly the very sunny living room). The neighbourhood is fantastic, and it’s quick and easy to walk to either the beach (about 5mins) or downtown Portland (15 mins). For parents of toddlers/young children, there are lots of well-equipped playgrounds and parks nearby. Nick (the host) was quick and easy to get in touch with and was really nice. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
We had a great time at Nick's apartment, it is spaceous and tastefully furnished. We were able to feel right at home and used the kitchen every day, the dining room had space for all of us which made for some great holiday meals together. The location is nearly unbeatable with just two blocks to the promenade by the water and a short walk to downtown. Congress Street, which is 50 yards from the front door, has a really cool vibe with bars, cafes and restaurants. Yet, you are clearly nestled in a residential area. I feel that in this location you really get the best of Portland, no matter what time of the year.

Needs some TLC
This is a second floor apartment with shared stairs to the third floor apartment. The young people above us were respectful but we definitely heard tramping up and down the stairs, music and voices. Living room very comfortable. The kitchen is better for reheating food rather than cooking. Some left over spices but no salt or pepper and random pots, etc. Only 5 forks and 3 wine glasses (1 was black- yuck). The mattresses are tired but the sheets clean. No towel bars in either bathroom. The bathroom between the front 2 bedrooms is a footed tub with a shower curtain. Shower in there at your own risk as any pressure on the shower curtain will bring it down. I did not receive any check in instructions from VRBO but the contact manager was quickly responsive to my request. Not the best place for us but it was clean and safe.

Great Spot on Munjoy Hill
We discovered Portland's East End on our first visit 6 years ago. Since then, we have returned every year, sometimes twice during a season. Although a joyful visit, we were disappointed with the state of this property. We felt it had barely been cleaned, as we sat at the dinning table to discover crumbs and bits of past meals in the cracks of the table glass. The furnishings, although comfortable, seem to have seen better days. They looked used and dirty. Something that would be easily remedied by simply using covers that can be washed and changed after each use. The straw that broke the camel's back was the mildew filled shower curtain around the freestanding tub. On the upside, as I said the location is incredible and the bathrooms were equipped with plenty of clean towels and warm blankets for those chilly Maine nights. The property also offers a wash and dryer inside the unit. Plenty of dishes and wine glasses were also available.
