About this property

1906 Craftsman • 5 Queen Beds • Sleeps 10

  • It's a 120-year-old house with original floors that creak, a proper flight of steps up to the porch, and one bathroom per floor. Portland summers can run hot. The central AC handles it, and the thermostat is in the dining room. Towels are provided, washcloths aren't, so bring your own if you use them.
Main floor: a living room with a sectional and a 65" TV, the dining room with a farmhouse table for 10, the kitchen, one queen bedroom, and a full bathroom with a tub.

Upstairs: three bedrooms, two with one queen bed each and one with two queens side by side, plus the second full bathroom.

    Basement: washer and dryer.

Central heating and AC cover the whole house from a thermostat in the dining room. A crib is available on request.

The whole house is yours. The key sits in a lockbox to the right of the front door, and the code arrives by message before you get there. There's a flight of porch steps up to the door. Bags can be dropped from noon on arrival day.

Check-in is self-guided, so you can arrive on your own schedule. I'm a message away whenever you need anything during your stay.

Woodlawn is a quiet pocket of NE Portland with its own small main street. Cafe Eleven on Rosa Parks Way is a 3-minute walk for coffee and pastries. Dekum Street, 8 minutes away, has Breakside Brewery's patio, Firehouse for wood-fired pizza in an old fire station, Woodlawn Coffee & Pastry, Tamale Boy, and P's & Q's for gourmet groceries and a deli lunch. Peninsula Park, with its sunken rose garden, is a 16-minute walk. The Alberta Arts District is a short drive south, N Mississippi about 10 minutes by car.

The driveway fits two cars, and street parking out front is free and unrestricted for any more. The garage is not for guest use.

The neighbors here know the house and will call in a party. If one starts, it gets reported, shut down, and the reservation ends.
