"The girl who welcomed us was lovely and v. Helpful. The room was clean and adequate. The exterior was in need of a repaint and the front looked nothing like this photo. The breakfast area was OK and food fresh but Mr, and Mrs. grumpy were NOT so cheerful and had a couldn’t care less attitude. We were not the only ones at breakfast looking for the coffee machine which was situated in the bar behind the door. There were NO plugs in the room. You got what you paid for which was a two star...

"The room had been renovated beautifully. Fully rewired with usb charging points and a plethora of lighting options. The bed was very comfortable with a bolster, two pillows and a decorative cushion per person, the most pillows we've ever encountered in France! Despite Cherbourg undergoing significant utility and road revamping, it made little impact in the hotel. Free parking was easily available within a few minutes walk 😀"

"There was a hurricane this day, not VVF's fault indeed. Quite a few things might have gone better though : We arrived at 4:15pm and the reception was supposed to be closed. Fortunately, someone (friendly) was there to help. However, the room was not ready until after 5pm. The parking is far from most cottages and we had to walk under the torrential rain & wind :-( No soap in the cottage.
