Historical hotel
Beautiful historical hotel, the rooms were comfortable, the bed too and we liked the vintage style fridge. Because this is a historical building the walls are very thin and you can hear everything! I'd give it a higher rating but the thin walls were an annoyance. Also, no AC in the unit.

It’s called the Belmont Hotel on all the travel sites but when you get there, they say through the phone that it’s called Vacasa. This hotel is not open when you peek inside the windows of the hotel and front desk and no one around to assist.
We had numerous calls trying to get someone to help us and everyone informed us they couldn’t help us until 4 o’clock when we could use a code that would be emailed to us privately to get into the hotel. Then we would need additional codes to get into a room.
When we asked other vendors about the hotel, they all told us that it’s run from outside of country. When we called and actually got somebody on the phone, accents were very difficult to understand, and they were very impatient. We asked if we could park our car because we had arrived a few hours earlier and they told us that we have to pay for street parking.
Little did I know until after I booked the hotel it was booked by the hotel through Expedia. I would’ve never booked through them had I known this. I was with two sisters that had traveled across country to visit me and I was so happy to take them up to Port Townsend in Washington state. It was a horrible experience and if you find yourself stranded, the Palace Hotel across the street is wonderful.

I would like a refund, Expedia failed to Email access codes to enter the building and the room we had reserved. When we hadn't received the necessary codes by 4:00 pm (check in time) prior to arrival, We were able to contact Expedia and the after a difficult search they were able to find our reservation. the woman we spoke to finally found our reservations and provided the codes for the building room. We were able to enter the building. However, the key code provided to us by the Expedia customer service agent would not unlock the door for the room assigned to us. I believe someone else was in our room because a dog barked as we tried to gain entry. At that point, we called Expedia customer service again, but this time we got the Mumbie branch of Expedia, The gentleman we spoke to was unable to help us in any way and asked us to "call back tomorrow". I asked to speak to the on duty manager but they could not find him. So there we were 11:00 at night, my wife and or children without a place to sleep on the eve of the long 4th of July weekend with nowhere to turn. Not happy, not happy at all, will never rely on Expedia again.
