Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Port Pine Heights?
The best time to go to Port Pine Heights is during the shoulder seasons of spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November).

During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm without the intense humidity and heat of summer, making it ideal for outdoor activities like exploring the Port Pine Heights Botanical Gardens or strolling along the waterfront. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak winter season, allowing for a more relaxed experience at popular attractions and restaurants.

Couples often find these times particularly appealing for a romantic getaway. The milder temperatures are superb for dining al fresco at one of the many seafood restaurants along Bay Street or enjoying a sunset cruise from the Port Pine Heights Marina. You can also take advantage of the calmer atmosphere to visit the historic lighthouse without feeling rushed.

Families travelling with children will also appreciate the shoulder seasons. The comfortable weather is great for spending time at Pine Heights Beach, and the reduced crowds mean shorter queues at family-friendly attractions like the Port Pine Heights Aquarium.
