"The check-in process was easy, and the host had plenty of things like towels and blankets; however, I found that the photos of the listing did not accurately depict the actual house. The photos online made the house look much newer than it was, and the photos had several nicer pieces of furniture than there actually were. I also wish there had been something online warning about the train that runs through the backyard, as it would go by and wake everyone in the house up in the middle of the night. The house was also much darker and lacked the bright lighting that it had online. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay, but the photos make the house seem much nicer than it was."

"Breakfast was not good. The milk was spoiled and it took 2 days to replace it. The blueberry yogurt was a month past its expiration date! The lady attending to the breakfast area was more interested in chatting with people as one of the coffee makers needed cleaned and there was a line of 10 people at the only operating one. When I finally got her attention to tell her. Her reply was “I know” and she walked away. There was no one at the check in desk 3 of the days we were there either."

"Near the beach and aquarium! It was very convenient location and plenty space for the four of us plus the dog. Very clear instructions. The train is noisy but it goes by fast and can’t be helped by the owners. "

"Was asked by host to change to a unit different than booked (upstairs unit). This unit did not have preferred bed arrangement which was reason for booking the original listing. Was notified midweek before visit which was not enough notice to find suitable alternatives. Host was apologetic, and offered some unspecified rebate after stay that never materialized. "

"We were so pleased with our stay. The house is as described and did not disappoint. The thoughtful amenities stood out most- good paper towels and toilet paper are always appreciated, along with surprises like a decent quality hair dryer, soft towels for make up removal, and beach towels onsite. The attention to detail was felt. "

"We were in visiting from the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay, just a little one-night getaway for us. Conveniently located right near the aquarium, which we had visited before checking-in. The Almanette is absolutely Wonderful!!! Delicious food, fantastic service all around, clean room. Everything was great! So happy to have found this place. Our bathroom provided all the necessities, including facial wipes, which I appreciated, since I forgot mine. The ONLY thing I felt it was missing was a mini-fridge in our room, that would have been really useful for us to keep leftover meals and a few cold drinks in. There is a microwave in the common area, which was great, I got a plate from downstairs and used it to heat up my bread pudding. 🤗 We stayed in the Loretta. 3rd floor, away from most of the noise. Everything you really need; clean & comfortable. Small balcony was nice to step out onto. Appreciate the wood floors (cleaner than hotel/model carpet). Nice bathroom."

"Home is clean, comfortable, convenient and pet friendly. Well equipped but I could not find oven mittens.There is a railroad track very close with several trains a day but very short trains so we didn’t find it a bother. Lovely porch for relaxing. "
