My stay was absolutely terrible. The cottage was filthy and mould on the ceilings and mattress. My brother and I got so sick,we had to go to pharmacy for injection.
I informed the front desk and nothing was done to sort out the problem. The toilet was filthy, con webs all over.Microwave broke 3 times and had to be replaced.
I WILL NEVER. Recommend Port Edward to anyone

Felt unsafe with all the pedestrians walking past my unit and basically looking into my front door - The front fence offers no protection , it needs to be electrified .

The reception staff were amazing. When we got to our room we were not happy at all. When opening the door the first thing you see are the 2 single beds. That space is for a living room. There was one brown couch which looked dirty and old. We couldn't relax in the lounge as we expected. I understand its a money making strategy to incease the number of guests but its not ok. The TV channels were limited as well. If you watch TV you need to raise your head like you are in a tarven as its installed high up in the wall. Im not sure if all the other rooms are like that or we were the unfortunate ones. But we managed to make ourselves happy regardless. Took lots of fotos outside and along the beach.
WEB PAGE OF PROPERTY WAS MISLEADING. NOT A 3 STAR BUT MORE LIKE A 1 OR 2 STAR RATING.
ITS NOT A LODGE, BUT A GUESTHOUSE .
1.Hostel atmosphere for youngsters or backpackers.
2.No management policies in place and no manager on site.
2.Poor communication skills dealing with the public telehonically or in person.
3.There is no reception area where quests are met.
4.Guest and staff space are being shared (having meals, cooking, washing or ironing of linen in the same space.)
5. No proper parking space. There is a shortage as some guests had to park in the road outside the gate.
6. No security in place especially at night times to insure that guests behave and that vehicles are looked after. With our stay guests were having a party, being loud until the next morning 3 o clock, meaning a restless night with little sleep.
7. Moving space on the property is limited with very little privacy.
8. Owner shows very little involvement.
WELL DONE WITH THE BREAKFAST! That was the only enjoyable time as we insisted having the breakfast in our room. It was lovely.thank you.
Nice views of the ocean. Spotted dolphins while sitting in the living room. Hotel is a bit outdated, needs a bit of a revamp. Not very clean.
Service was friendly.
My friends and i booked this for fishing as it is close to the beach. Everything was fine except for cleanliness. Shower and bathtub with black mildew stains. The room were not cleaned daily.
It was terrible and not so clean will never come back there and the toilets don't work plus it was leaking inside the room as it was raining most awful place to stay
