We stayed for 9 days. It was Very clean and quiet. Fairly central to shops. Staff was great. The only thing we didn’t like was the three flights of stairs with luggage was difficult and housekeeping after the forth day only ment they change bed sheets and towels. No soap shampoo or coffee was replenished however if you asked for some they gave it. Laundry was free as well as soap but it was cold water only. All in all it was very clean and comfortable.

Things to love about it: - Quiet - good bed and shower - Linen and towels fine - Short walk into town - Kitchenette well set up - Free laundry facilities For improvement: - Needs a little tlc eg blinds were a little shabby, the drying rack and luggage rack were both a bit rusty Dislikes: - Beach Towels vost $5, which I know is standard in Port Douglas but is annoying All in all, I recommend Bay Villas - I've stayed here before and would again. It just needs a little care to spruce it up around the edges but this stuff is not enough to put me off staying there/

Access to front main road and back road (rear access) allowed one a choice of access. One can walk to the main shopping and dining area, the library and the marina easily. The bedding (mattress) in the unit requires updating so if you have back issues, the bed in the unit we occupied could be problematic.

Would stay again!
Very well set up apartment. Lovely pool area. Only a pleasant 10 minute walk from the busy eating and shopping area. Helpful staff Smallish bathroom and if you struggle with stairs make sure you book a downstairs room.

My bed was great and surprisingly my pillow was exactly how I liked it. Rooms are close and you hear toilet flushing at all hours of night but you get used to it. Close to macrossan street and 2 back from beach. Good location. Very helpful staff.

No advertised complementary toiletries in the room. A lot of mould in the very tiny bathroom. Supposed to be non-smoking section but couldn’t sit on balcony for cigarette smell. Light on very narrow stairwell not working on one floor so quite dark and dangerous at night. And worst of all : plastic wine glasses!!

We did apologise for the lack of amenities in the bathroom and provided you with more than the usual quantity. This was an oversight from the Housekeeping team. As for the supposed mould, if you took a closer look you can see that the tile grout has changed colour with age. We were not advised that a light was out in the stairwell. Had we known it would have been replaced immediately. You were given two wine GLASSES. The plastic ones are for use in the pool area. Cigarette smoke? We cannot ask guests to refrain from smoking on the OUTSIDE balconies.

We stayed in 1a. It is a little dated. A paint job needed inside. Furniture in lounge was very uncomfortable. Stove top plates very rusted. Bed was very comfy. Other than that it was good.

Very comfortable
We had 5 nights in a really nice quiet, comfortable self contained 1 bedroom ground floor apartment with all necessary mods and cons to make our stay really enjoyable. Easy free parking was a bonus and only a short walk from the Main Street of Port Douglas

Lovely affordable place to stay, unfortunately the pool was closed and there were noisy renovations that we weren't made aware of. Parking was a bit on the difficult side. Regardless, great value for money.

Communication was terrible both pools and bbq areas not available to use and they did not communicate that with us even though I was emailing them a week before arriving and no apology and were quite rude while our stay . Had to purchase beach towels to go to the beach . Would have at least thought they would be complimentary concidering we couldn’t use any resort features . Pool photos on site were definitely not the photos from the resort , even we could use it . First time in port Douglas and would not recommend Bay villa to anyone.

Hi Jodie,We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We only closed one Pool area at a time, this was due to Exterior Painting. Unfortunately BBQ areas are at the back of the pool areas which makes these areas unacceptable while each pool area was closed. Unfortunately one of our BBQ areas required more maintenance than expected therefore required to be closed longer than expected. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. But we do take the safety of our guests seriously.

We booked a studio which was quite spacious for two pax and included a great kitchen setup and balcony only downside was the bathroom was tiny with not great ventilation Cleaners and staff all super friendly and helpful even gave us a lock up garage to use Might be a bit crowded in peak season

If you had let us know we could have investigated the unusual smell in your room, and rectified any issue. We booked a 3-bedroom apartment but we’re given a 2-bedroom apartment with attached studio. Both needed a deep and thorough clean. The complex owner and reception staff are lovely, but are being let down by cleaning staff. It’s time to replace the filthy rug in the living area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Bay Villas in Pt. Douglas. Easy walk to restaurants and Marano Fuel Wharf. The unit was comfortable and nice. Never did get the tv working, but it didn’t matter that much.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room had everything you needed. It was spacious, had air conditioning in living and bedroom areas, balcony etc. Staff not overly friendly but not rude. We would stay here again

Hi Ricki,We only do services for guests staying 6 days or more.We do not service every day as this would add to the cost of a nightly stay. Guests have the option of requesting apartment servicing more than this, but the cost will be added to their room cost.

The room was extremely disappointing. The stove was covered in grease. The floor was sticky and stained and clearly hadn’t been cleaned since previous tenant. The room smelt awful. The bathroom was horrible with a bath shower that my friend couldn’t fit under. The couch was gorse and had a tissue in between the coushions.

Close proximity to Macrossan St, beautiful pool and BBQ area, large apartments perfect for families. Room was tidy however could use a thorough clean (dust on surfaces, dirty grout, food remnants in cutlery drawer). Housekeeping staff were pleasant however I didn’t experience the welcoming service and atmosphere from reception that others claim which was disappointing. Felt like the people I interacted with at reception didn’t want to be there.
