There was a kitchenette, washing machine and ironing board provided, and all useful utensils provided (even sachets of oil for using the frying pan). Check in was simple with the use of door codes. "It was the first time in Madeira and it won’t be our last! The apartment was very spacious for our family of 5 and the views from the balcony were amazing. We ate out there for every meal. The weather was perfect, warm and sunny in the day and cooler at night. The area is beautiful with plenty of seafood restaurants over looking the ocean and walking the promenade for miles. And finally the pool and bathing area of the complex were wonderful with the amazing views of the Madeira’s landscape!"

"We had a great experience at Saccharum. Property is very clean and well kept, the view from our ocean room was amazing. The staff was helpful and friendly, going out of their way to get us a correct power adapter as we had the incorrect one. The breakfast buffet was top tier, we looked forward to our first meal of the day. We enjoyed our drinks at the beach club, and the loungers were clean and comfortable. My wife said her spa appointment in the hotel was a highlight of our trip to Madeira."

"Fabulous hotel. We splashed out on a sea view suite and it was well worth the extra. The hotel is split either side of a road with a bridge walkway so it made a real difference being on the coast side, overlooking the pool. The room size was generous for two friends sharing. With a lovely kitchenette area that was exceptionally equipped; toaster, fridge, hob, dishwasher, everything you need if you want to do the odd meal in your room…… not that you’d need to. The bar/restaurant on site was good and not over priced, and there were so many great restaurants within walking distance. The pool area was lovely, plenty of shaded spots and easy access directly into the sea. Overall, we had the most wonderful mini break. Definitely worth spending on the suite!!!!"
