Stunning view, quiet location

Loved our stay here! Was amazing to be on the old orange groves and eat outside overlooking the ocean and landscape. Really stunning, cozy home.

Beautiful Home, Island, and vacation!

The cottage has a ton of character, built from volcanic stone, and was excellent for our family. It's located centrally on the island and perfect for day trips to sites on both ends of the island (45 min max drive time either way). We spent 8 days here and would visit again, for sure.Marco gave a nice tour of the property including pineapple and banana orchards too.Highly recommended!

Beautiful House!

This is a lovely house in an idyllic setting. Convenient to the sites and restaurants but in the peace and quiet of the country. Marco provided excellent restaurant recommendations and a list of must see spots which was appreciated. The house was spacious and comfortable even on a rainy day.

Two weeks in Sao Miguel

We spent a week at Marco's house to visit the Western part of the island and another week in Furnas to visit the eastern part of Sao Miguel, but Marco's house is a great spot to visit the entire island. The view is truly exceptional and the house is pleasant. No swimming pool (or jacuzzi?) as mentioned on the website but Santa Barbara beach and natural swimming pools are nearby.

Best vacation rental ever

When we saw the posting of the house, we booked our vacation dates to the only multi-day opening that was available. The actual stay surpassed everything we could hope for from the description. An absolute highlight: Spending evenings on the patio with a panoramic view of the Atlantic and the landscape. Another highlight: Mario, the owner, who welcomed us in person and, on another day, gave us an extended tour of the plantation. An absolute dream vacation. Thank you!!

Schönes Ferienhaus mit viel Charm

Tolles Wiedersehen

Wir hatten das Haus vor 10 Jahren schon einmal gemietet und waren erfreut, es genauso schön vorzufinden wie damals. Das authentische azoreanische Bauernhaus hat Charme und ist mit der neuen Klimaanlage bestens für das tropische Klima gerüstet. Marco, der Gastgeber, hat uns herzlich empfangen und an der Geschichte seiner Familie teilhaben lassen, die die angrenzenden Ländereien u.a. mit Ananas- und Bananenanbau bewirtschaftet. Mit Kühen auf dem Gelände taucht man ins Landleben ein, und im Garten des Hauses entdeckt man immer neue Kleinigkeiten. Von der Terrasse kann man den Blick weit über die Insel und das Meer schweifen lassen. Wir hatten eine wirklich gute Zeit.

Perfekt für eine Auszeit

Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt in dieser charmanten Ferienwohnung in einem restaurierten Haus aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Die Atmosphäre ist einzigartig – man spürt förmlich die Geschichte, die in den alten Mauern steckt. Besonders haben uns die ruhige Lage und der fantastische Ausblick gefallen, die perfekt zum Entspannen einladen. Die Einrichtung ist nicht modern, aber zweckmäßig und gut auf die Bedürfnisse von Gästen abgestimmt. Alles, was man braucht, ist vorhanden, und die Wohnung ist sauber und ordentlich. Da es sich um ein älteres Haus in abgeschiedener Lage handelt, bekommt man gelegentlich auch mal Besuch von harmlosen mehrbeinigen Mitbewohnern. Die Lage des Objekts ist ideal, um in kurzer Zeit mit dem Auto zu den Stränden nach Santa Barbara und Ponta Delgada zu kommen. Marco, der Vermieter, war von Anfang an sehr hilfsbereit und hatte stets sehr gute Tipps parat. Er lud uns auch zu einer Besichtigung der benachbarten Ananasplantage ein. Insgesamt eine tolle Unterkunft für alle, die Ruhe suchen und das Besondere an historischen Gebäuden schätzen.

Rustikales Haus mit fantastischer Sicht auf Meer und Land

Der Gastgeber antwortet jeweils sehr schnell. Er ist hilfsbereit und gab uns viele Tipps. Das Haus ist an wunderschöner und praktischer Lage, da man von dort aus die ganze Insel einfach erkunden kann. Es ist ein sehr schönes altes Haus. Mit ein paar dekorativen Updates wäre es perfekt.

Das Ferienhaus lässt keine Wünsche offen und entspricht genau der Beschreibung. Wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohlgefühlt. La ubicación y el entorno espectacular

La casa en términos generales esta bien. Echamos en falta la lavadora, el horno y la televisión en menor medida. Tambien se les deberia indicar a los huespedes la forma de acceder a la misma, porque al poner el navegador te indica un acceso que no es posible llegar porque el camino se hace tan estrecho que no pasa un coche. Por el otro lado el acceso se hace sin ninguna dificultad. Si no lo sabes puede ser un problema.

Excellent sejour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la villa de Marco, spacieuse et agréable avec une vue magnifique mer et campagne, mais malgré proche de toutes les visites. L’île est magique et la maison de Marco un havre de paix pour en profiter ! La disponibilité et les conseils de Marco tout au long du séjour est vraiment un plus.

Fantastic historic Azorean house in perfect location

Perfect setting for the Sao Miguel explorer, every corner of the island can be reached within 30mins. It is an historic orange plantations supervisor house from the 18th century. The owner with german origins is very helpful and lives nearby most of the year. He is very responsive and was available on short notice during our stay. The house is equipped for the basic needs of a smaller group, although the house can host 6 guests theroretically. It is already my second stay and I would always come come back.

Fantastic spacious property, great views and host

We stayed in this property for two weeks as a family group of two adults and two children (5 and 8 yrs). Fantastic communication from the host throughout booking and our stay. It was our first time on the island, so great to have such a welcome. More than enough room for us. A sea breeze meant the property stayed cool and comfortable. As we were self-catering, we would have benefited from an oven (as others have mentioned) but this was easy to work around with the BBQ and hob. Thanks for your hospitality Marco. Sao Miguel is an amazing island with so much to offer and I'm sure we will be back.
