Amazing views ! Maison le Jarrissou offers stunning views over the Vezere Valley which can be enjoyed in the house or while lounging by the largein-ground pool (9m x 4.5 m) or on the upper flagstone terrace . The house is air conditioned for your comfort. You enter the 130 sq meter house (1300 sq feet) into a spacious and sunny glass enclosed veranda. Here you will find a large dining table and comfortable chairs. It is a great place to relax over a cup of coffee or glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. This room opens into a large salon featuring a traditional cantou fireplace, beamed ceiling and a view over the valley. It is equipped with flat screen TV, WiFi and a music docking system. There is a balcony overlooking the valley right off the salon with great views and seating for 4 . Also on the main level is an updated chefs kitchen with quartz countertop, built in dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, gas hob, built in microwave and wall oven. There is an island with seating for two. The best feature is the stunning view over the kitchen sink... not a bad way to wash up after a morning coffee and croissant! The main level master bedroom features a king size bed and large wardrobe . Adjacent is a new ensuite master bathroom with walk in shower, large double vanity with granite top and heated towel rack. There is also a separate toilet room on this level. Upstairs is the second bedroom with queen size bed and ensuite shower and toilet. There is an absolute incredible view from this bedroom window! A single bed can be added to this room if needed. The layout of this house is ideal for two couples or a couple with two children as it is very private with ensuite bedrooms on separate levels. Outside just a few steps from the front door is a flagstone terrace where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning while watching the mist rise from the valley... truly breathtaking. In the evening enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine from this lofty location or from the balcony off the salon/living room. The pool surround and landscaping has been refreshed with travertine pavers and new artisan iron fencing. The pool is heated. There are lounge chairs, umbrellas and an outdoor dining table by the pool. The pool is for you alone, no one else will have access to it during your stay.
The price of the rental includes top quality linens, towels, washer AND DRYER and a fully equipped kitchen. There is no extra charge for cleaning.
This is a wonderful get away retreat while offering so many nearby historic sites to visit. After a full day of sight seeing you can return home to a private oasis, take a dip in the pool while taking in the breathtaking vista, and then enjoy a glass of wine on the veranda or terrace.
The house is 1.5 miles from the medieval village of Plazac which has a small organic grocery, a boulangerie, café/bar, post office and tennis court. St. Leon sur Vezere, designated one of the 'plus beaux villages de France' is 3 miles away. Here you can rent a canoe for a scenic trip down the Vezere River where you will pass craggy cliffs and chateaus. Or you can stroll through the village, have lunch and visit its beautiful 12C Romanesque church and chateau. The house is six miles from Rouffignac with more shops and a supermarket. Rouffignac boasts one of the largest prehistoric caves in Europe. There is a guided tour on an electric train which takes you through places where bears dug their lairs and shows you part of the cave with its wall paintings. Seven miles from the house is the picturesque riverside town of Montignac with multiple supermarkets, shops, restaurants and the caves of Lascaux nearby. Les Eyzies is ten miles away, Sarlat 16 miles and the valley of the Dordogne just beyond. So come explore the heart of prehistory and the land of 1,000 chateaux with a stay at Maison le Jarrissou!

Really gorgeous and comfortable house. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic views from the balcony and a lovely pool Hosts were really lovely and helpful. I would recommend this house and I hope to stay there again
The house is just wonderful, it has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Location is great, so many lovely villages near by and lots to do. Great views across the valley.
We had a fabulous stay in this wonderful house. We particularly enjoyed the amazing pool and all the outdoor space, soaking in the sunset and amazing views. The house is air conditioned and very well appointed with everything you need.
Absolutely loved this house. Well equipped, beautiful rooms, fabulous pool and a stunning location. Clean and comfortable.
All we could ask for and more, would definitely love to return, didn’t want to leave.
Very comfortable accommodation with a lovely outlook. Peaceful with many places to visit. We were a bit unlucky with the weather as it was much cooler than we expected with a lot of rain (we understand this was unusual). However, there was plenty to keep us occupied both inside and outside the house.
We spent a week in this lovely, well appointed villa overlooking the Vèzére River valley. The fall weather that week was a bit too chilly to enjoy pool or sit outdoors but the views remained spectacular. The villa was a great base for venturing out to the nearby prehistoric sites, market towns, and wonderful restaurants and was a cozy home for evenings in enjoying local wine, cheese and charcuterie. Beth and John provided helpful advice and the housekeeper was prompt and accommodating. Thanks!
The house and view are truly breath taking. We have stayed at many gites in france and this one has the best quality equipment and furnishing we have ever experienced. The kitchen is a chefs dream and we throughly enjoyed serving up produce we had bought at Montignac market on the lovely outside tables. Lovely holiday. Thank you!
We arrived to find an absolute idyll. The property is beautifully furnished and maintained and the views are absolutely stunning. It really was ‘home from home’, wonderful large comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, fabulous kitchen, lovely lounge and even UK TV!
The weather was incredibly hot so we very grateful for the air conditioning and the beautiful pool! We also enjoyed spending time just sitting on the balcony watching the hot air balloons rising over the horizon in the mornings and looking at the stunning night sky late at night.
It is a perfect location for visiting many places of interest form wonderful chateaus, beautiful villages and even incredible caves.
We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the property and will definitely return in the future.
We had an amazing week at this fantastic property - just wish we could have stayed for longer! The owner has thought of everything and it was such a relaxing home-from-home. The perfect base to explore a lovely part of the world. Thank you for a fantastic holiday.
Most wonderful experience! Accommodates were fantastic and location was amazing. Had the chef recommended come twice…both times were were culinary delights!
The best villa we have stayed at in 7 years of visiting France. A fantastic location with beautiful views from the balcony and windows. The house was finished to a high standard with a lovely pool and garden area.
Lots to see and do within a short drive and numerous great restaurants!
A very comfortable and relaxing home from home. Beautifully furnished and extensively equipped to an exceptionally high standard. Stunning views, large pool, patios and delightful gardens. A peaceful location in an area of outstanding beauty, yet within easy reach of lots of sights and things to do. We certainly hope to be able to return.
The house is lovely, especially the view which is stunning. The kitchen was well equipped and the large sitting room came in useful when the weather turned. Just be aware that the upstairs bedroom has restricted height access up a steep cornering staircase. The majority of the room itself is full height, it just might be an issue if you're booking for small children or people with limited mobility. I wasn't wild about my son trying to get down the staircase if he was half-asleep and needed us at night, which is the only reason I haven't given it five stars.
The villa is fantastic, very comfortable, well equipped, tastefully furnished and with outstanding views. We had a wonderful relaxing week. The area has so many pretty villages, chateau, gardens and historic places to visit. We would love to come back and explore some more. There are also lots of very high quality friendly restaurants a short drive from the house.
The housekeeper Eliabeth was very kind and helpful and acted quickly to get someone out to mend the heating in the pool which was not working.
Thankyou Beth for just the most perfect holiday.

A wonderful holiday home which has it all!
We had a fantastic week in this beautiful holiday home which was well equipped and clean. We had everything we needed from kitchen utensils to dishwasher, washer and dryer, books to read and a lovely conservatory in which to relax and eat. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning made sure that the house was a wonderful retreat from the intense summer heat. The pool was used several times daily and the various terraces made reading and sunbathing a treat whilst taking in beautiful views of the valley. We loved the area and the hosts' suggestions for days out and restaurants was very helpful. We would highly recommend this to other holidaymakers.
We had a fabulous time. The bed was large and extremely comfortable with power points on either side which meant we could use our sleep apnoea machines easily. The house and pool are maintained meticulously. The air conditioning was wonderful on hot days. The pool is very private and wonderful to have as our exclusive use. We used the balcony a lot as it had a wonderful view over the countryside and beautiful sunsets. Great kitchen with everything you could need. Also the host left washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets (and a bottle of wine!) which was much appreciated. Hosts and housekeeper were very responsive; they genuinely want you to have a lovely stay. Great area with lots to do. Very close to Lascaux caves and we also did a cookery course with an English chef who has been living in the area for over 20 years which was very enjoyable (Le Chevrefeuille).

You will want to return to Maison Le Jarrissou!
I cannot write enough wonderful things about our stay at this home in the rolling hills of Dordogne! It's like waking up in today's world with reminders of centuries before. The home sits high on a hill with views overlooking the beautiful French countryside for miles. Breath-taking! You can see French cottages, farms and chateaux in every direction. The home has been meticulously furnished with a relaxed and comfortable French look and feel. The gardens and pool add even more. The owner has thought of everything that guests would want! Ken and Beatrice were very helpful in giving us a tour of the home when we arrived and answering any questions we had. The home is close to the charming village of Plazac and within a short and easy driving distance to Montignac for more shopping. It is also located within a comfortable drive to tourist favorites, including, but not limited to, Castelnaud, Sarlat, and St. Leon-sur Vezere. The scenery and history of the region is a must to see as you use Maison Le Jarrissou as your French home!

A very comfortable and spacious home with a beautiful pool and stunning views
This was our second visit to this property. Last year we stayed with friends and this year we bought our teenage daughters. The house is in a quiet location and is extremely comfortably furnished and the wonderful kitchen has everything you could need. The new shower room is a great addition. The house has a great living room with English tv available and wifi (important with teenagers!) but my favourite room is a wooden roofed conservatory with a seating area and dining table where you can slide open the windows and enjoy the breeze or spend the evening playing cards. The upstairs bedroom has slightly restricted headroom on the stairs but my 5' 7" daughter only bumped her head once. The room has its own bathroom. The pool area is lovely. It is very protected and private and the pool is very warm. The steps in are quite deep so young children would need to be careful. The man who manages the property is very helpful. It's about a 15 minute drive to the supermarket and there is lots to do in the area if you can drag yourself away from the pool and the stunning view.
Maison très agréable et extrêmement bien équipée.
Vue exceptionnelle et confort remarquable.
Calme et piscine sans vis à vis.
Accueil très sympathique.
A beautiful villa with spectacular views in a great location.
You can relax by the pool or visit a selection of amazing villages, towns and sights, all within a 30 minute drive of the villa.
Superb.
We had a brilliant time here. The house itself is very comfortable and has everything you could want. It’s all looked after very well. It has great views and is such a delight to sit on the terrace or by the pool, or drink your coffee in the kitchen looking out of the window. It is also very well placed for visiting all the beautiful sites in this area., We didn’t want to leave!
