"Small, cozy, friendly, quiet....we stayed for a month in the jungle of Guanacaste with Gary and his dog, Wally! The pool is wonderfully shady in the afternoons, Gary is a warm and friendly host, helpful and kind. We were looking for someplace near to beaches, great sunsets, and no crowds....meeting the locals, shopping the local markets, etc. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax."

"I stayed at Nakanku Lodge from mid January to mid February 2024 accompanied by my little Maltese dog, Lulu. Everything was wonderful! The tropical garden setting was beautiful. I loved the pool and easy proximity to beaches. The outdoor kitchen was so fun as it generated opportunities for community and conversations with other guests. Gary was a super host! Hope to return next winter! Pura vida!"

"The pool area and bar are great! The night we stayed, there was live music and we made new friends. Very comfortable, and near the beach. After looking at other hotels and even staying at one footsteps away, this is definitely your best option!! And if you’re a soccer fan, there’s a field right across the street."

"Hotel Tamarindo Diria is absolutely beautiful. Easy and Excellent access to the clean beach. Ocean views from most of the property. Reception desk personnel ver kind and easy to communicate with. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Don't forget to put toilet paper in trash can! Service staff members are friendly and kind. Very helpful. Food service is great. Menu and food much better than I expected. I was delightfully surprised how wonderful this property is."

"I booked this at the Total last minute and it was on Halloween night where they had to have their own little guest crew to meet and greet The Ghost and goblins with Candy and there were two brothers that own and run the hotel, which is immaculate and redone so tastefully and imaginably creative and is seemingly like brand new and I just kick myself that I couldn’t stay longer, but I came here to get my teeth redone for 1/10 of the amount of the United States uses so I had to drive all the way to Hako because I flew in to Liberia and really made a last-minute reservation and did not get enough time to serve The Beach like I wanted to, but I will be back here to stay for at least two weeks and the guys or brothers that are in charge are amazing!! they booked a lot of things for me at last minute to get my rental car and drive all the way down to Hale Beach and from there I go the next day to San Jose to get my eyes fixed and my teeth fixed and like I said for 1/10 on the dollar, but these guys have everything dialed in to get you where you need to go!!!!"

"The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. The pre-arrival emails from the hotel allowed me to make the most of my visit. The property is beautiful. The complimentary horseback riding at La Estancia is an activity you do not want to miss. The hiking trails provide wonderful vistas."

"Very cute and cozy hotel, 5 minutes walk to playa hermosa so it was perfect. AND 1 hour drive to Playa Conchal, a MUST go see it’s BEAUTIFUL. The free breakfast was amazing, only 5 options (but it includes a lot of food) but very delicious. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again for a very relax stay and quick drive to airport"

"What a great trip or group of 5 families (9 adults, 9 teens) had in this property! Each of the bungalows was identical with a large deck, a small kitchen area, two spacious bedrooms and two expansive bathrooms. The AC in the bedrooms was perfect. We opted to have Alicria cook our dinners and some breakfasts for us and they were outstanding. She hit the quantities of everything spot on, and accommodated our mix of meat eaters and vegetarians perfectly. Sher, the concierge took care of finding us the best activities and vendors. We had surf lessons, an estuary tour, daily yoga and a sunset tour. All of the providers she worked with were fantastic. The pool was cleaned daily and started a wonderful temperature even though it was so hot outside. Manfred, the owner was responsive when we requested some fans for the shelter above the communal kitchen. Our group could not have been happier with this rental--the perfect blend of private and public space, great food at great prices, and beachfront on a sandy, deserted, beautiful beach with warm swimmable water. What more could you want?"
