Great location, but not so great experience.
Make sure you don’t stay in room 402. I guess the smoke detectors are not that sensitive or are outdated.
Someone on the floor figured out how to smoke without setting the fire alarm off. The smoke traveled through the bathroom vents into our room. Not acceptable, being that we were with our 3-week-old baby.
We checked in and went out for dinner, and when we came back it smelled like strong cigarette smoke, like someone was in the room smoking while we were out. I went to the front desk and they came to check it out. They first said yes, the floor smells like cigarettes, but then said no, that’s not smoke, it’s some chemical smell.
They suggested that the only solution was to leave the bathroom fan on. Not, “I’m sorry, let’s get you, your wife, and your 3-week-old baby to another room that does not smell like cigarettes coming from the bathroom vent if it’s turned off.”
We left the fan on and the smell dialed down, but since we did not want to hear the fan noise all night, we turned it off around 12 AM. At 1:32 AM, my wife woke me to tell me the cigarette smell was back, and stronger this time.
Once again, I went to the front desk to complain about the smell, and I was told to just turn on the fan. I demanded we get a different room or I was checking out.
I called The Parc Hotel to see if they had a room, and they did. We have "
