We love the house and look forward to our now annual trip each year. Perry is very easy to work with and the house is always very clean and ready for our stay.
This was our 2nd visit to this property and once again, it exceeded our expectations. Clean and spacious in a peaceful, quiet setting. Perry is always quick to respond to any of our concerns. No issues with check-in. Home is extreamly comfortable for a group of 7. We will definitely return!
We had a great week at the Plainfield House. Perfect for our family of 6! Daytime adventures chasing waterfalls and pond adventures, evening fires outside and games and puzzles inside.
We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay out of the way in the Berkshires!
Perfect quiet location with beautiful lake and trail access
Perry was awesome and easy to connect with. Beds were all very comfortable and there are 2 large bathrooms easy to share with a big family.
Everything is labeled in the house and it makes it so easy to do everything. We will look forward to staying here in the future!
If I could give more than 5 stars for the location and the communication with the property manager I would ! This property was great, the hiking, the trails, the gardens, and all of the items available (kayaks, PaddleBoards, fire pit, etc.). Everything was as described, ready and easy to use. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.
Nice, peaceful, calming and relaxing stay! The host has thought of EVERYTHING. Any amenity one could need and then some were included. And serene breakfasts in the gazebo were the cherry on top! Thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Plainfield House. It gave us lots of room to spread out or sit together in the large Living Room as needed. It was fun picking late tomatoes from the garden for dinner. The house was a gracious old New England gal with just enough renovation to be comfortable and the kitchen big enough for several cooks at once. We definitely recommend it.
The house was in a beautiful location with hiking and swimming nearby. The house was spacious and our family was able to use many of the amenities mentioned. I would caution folks, that the stairs going down to the pond at the back of the property are extremely steep and the dense vegetation at the waterfront made using the water almost impossible. Overall we had a nice time.
We had an incredible stay at this ski house in the Berkshires! It was the perfect spot for our family ski trip, especially with our grandkids who were skiing for the first time. The house was both lovely and functional. The upstairs area offered plenty of space, along with toys that kept the kids entertained, while the downstairs bedroom and bathroom provided some much-needed privacy. After a day on the slopes, we had so much fun sledding down the front yard, and the house had more than enough sleds for everyone to enjoy. The property itself is huge, making it ideal for snowy hikes, and it’s just a short drive to the mountain. The kitchen was well-equipped for all our cooking needs, and there was an abundance of firewood for cozy nights by the fireplace. We had an amazing time and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great getaway. We would love to come back in the summer
We totally enjoyed our Memorial weekend stay! The house was everything that was promised -- lots of space, beautiful setting, comfortable, well-equipped including games for the kids.Perry was easy to reach.I have bad knees so it was a little hard for me to get around the large but hilly yard and I needed help getting down to the pond. We all enjoyed a morning of kayaking, two afternoons at the sandy beach, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, and eating meals in the screened gazebo. My family went hiking around the pond. Bring bug spray if you go. We also enjoyed a day at Mass MOCA. Windows were hard to keep open, AC was slow. A delightful, easy weekend.
This house was perfect for 2 families (all adults)...the elder people stayed on the main level (perfect...no stairs) and the younger family had the entire upstairs! Family room was fantastic...lots of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy reading/ TV etc. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, pots, pans, new appliances and good areas for eating....kitchen was sunny and comfy!
Our only complaint was getting to the pond and trails behind the house...the stairs looked ok but then there is a muddy path leading to the pond and trails...for us that was difficult as it rained 5/7 days and the path was NOT workable even for the most athletic amongst us....that was a disappointment as the pictures made it look like it was those stairs all the way down.
Otherwise it was a perfect house and the nearby lake and beach looked really nice and easy to get to. We would go there again!
We had a wonderful multi generational, family long weekend at the Plainfield House. The house was spacious and kitchen was well stocked (even with coffee which was a pleasant surprise!). Grounds were beautiful, and we enjoyed a lovely camp fire every night as we had perfect weather. The host was very responsive, and the house was in a great location for lots of hiking. Would highly recommend for families. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The house is great and Perry the property manager is as good as they get in this business! Our group is planning to return next year for our 3rd annual trip.
Nice located place with easy access, quiet and spacious ... unfortunately we had a rainy day, but even so we managed to have a lot of fun on the ski area ...
We loved our stay! Hiking in the morning right outside the back door, sitting by the cozy fire when it poured rain, and cooking in the well stocked kitchen were highlights. There was 9 of us ( including one very happy pup) and it never felt cramped. Would happily book again next time we are in the area!
