The birding was amazing! It was nice to be able to take the canoes out in the pond whenever we wanted. The porch on the back of the rooms with hammocks was really nice.
Tolle Lofge inmitten vom Regenwald.

Not an enjoyable visit this year
This was my second time staying at Laguna del Lagarto and I'm afraid it wasn't a positive experience this year. My last day of photography was ruined by the apparent immediate need to take down the existing feeder and put up a new one in anticipation of a photography group that was coming and yet no photography group came. This lodge caters to photography groups so if you're on your own then you may be out of luck. The birds stayed away from the area due to all the noise. The fan, toilet and shower were broken/not working properly. The people are very nice which makes writing a bad review difficult but we didn't enjoy our stay.

Staff was wonderful. Food was great!!! Loved the morning "Bird Show" It was the highlight of my day. The crocodile show was so good. Nice vacation stay.

100% Costa Rica, atemberaubende, artenreiche Natur. Nirgendwo so viele Tukane gesehen.

Costa Rician jungle and wild life.
Laguna de Largato Lodge is not for everyone, but for those who want to see the remote jungles of Costa Rica and exotic birds, this is the place for you. The location is pretty remote, a little over an hour on a dirt road. The rooms are pretty small with little amenities, but the wild life is amazing. They have a pole next to their balcony which they place bananas and it attacks all sorts of exotic birds. You can sit on the balcony in the early morning or late afternoon and see numerous birds including serveral types of toucans. On the jungle hike you can see monkeys, birds, coati, and agouti. They have caiman in the lagoon. The lodge caters to Germans as we were the only couple from the States.
