The beaded ceiling molding for the walls and the ceiling with the massive baseboards are classic for the era it was built. The updated tub/shower and furnishings made it very comfortable. "Mr. Hunter's cottage is a lovely cottage from a by-gone era. Located in the mountains of Giles county, VA, this cottage is comfortable with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The cottage is furnished with pieces that could have been there when it was built. The cottage has a beautiful porch, a great place for morning coffee. There is a very nice restaurant just steps from the cottage. I advise having at least one meal there, make sure you have reservations, as it can get quite busy. The restaurant was...

"We stayed here for a couple of nights while traveling from out of state. This home was perfect for us for a family of 7 including a 1 1/2 year old, 3 year old and 2 dogs! It was very clean, big open floor plan which was wonderful. The kitchen had almost any item you may need, as did every part of the home actually. Loved seeing all the linens! "So close to the mountain, which is exactly what we needed for our family snowboard trip. The pictures don’t do the place justice. It was spacious and comfortable. Only downside, closest grocery stores are 20ish minutes away so we survived on Dollar General and it worked out perfectly! Highly recommend you stay and experience all that Winterplace has to offer."
