"We booked this hotel for a quick stay after a long days bus ride. At time of booking a message was sent to management letting them know that our arrival to the hotel would be late as there was a lengthy bus ride and as the expedia app explained late check in was available as per availability whatever that means. The hotel responded a little later that late check in would not be possible and sorry for the inconvenience. Inconvenience? We were only a few hours from our destination at this point...

"My wife and I stayed at the Kunken Lodge along our travels around the beautiful country of Costa Rica. The property grounds are picturesque and perfectly manicured, the food was delicious, and Elian and Pierre were amazing hosts that went above and beyond to make sure everything about our stay was perfect. "This is such a gem of a place. The service was impeccable and the staff are so lovely, it made our stay even more special. There loads of activities that travelers can choose to do as well. The pool and area surrounding is so relaxing, tropical and tranquil. There are a plethora of amazing birds and other species to see on the property itself or just a short walk! You can also rent bikes and head into Puerto Jimenez which is lovely and special too. What an amazing property and spectacular getaway! "

"It is a true rare gem. A wonderful lodge in the middle of the jungle. Our villa was spacious. It has two huge rooms and a giant porch where we saw monkeys. I was grilling to the sound of howler monkeys. The owners are a young Danish couple who are welcoming and helpful. They are building a big pool which is going to be ready in the next few weeks. We were the second guests and I can tell you- this is going to be an upscale lodge so come now while the prices are still reasonable. The way there is a bit rustic so be sure to have a 4 by 4 and come during the day so you can see the nature while driving. You cant go wrong. "
