Reservation and check in was a breeze. This property was perfect for our family, packed full family games and plenty of room for our dog. It was a great getaway for the weekend, I wished we could’ve stayed longer!
We had a great stay at this property, such a cute house and very clean. We enjoyed the fire pit and screened-in porch the most. As we were planning the trip, the owner was so great to communicate with us in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend staying at this location.
My family of 5 used Chief of Ladiga Cottage as our home base for a week. The Host, Julie, was very communicative and gracious to provide some heart felt amenities. The Cottage is remote enough for privacy but not too far from town. We all had a great time!!!!
Perfect for our family gathering. Adequately stocked with kitchen & dining necessities. Plenty of space for relaxation and conversations, inside and outside. Thank you for sharing your home!
While we only stayed for 2 nights and were extremely busy due to a wedding we were attending, our family agrees we will be returning when we can stay for a full week and explore more. This home is beautiful and it truly does feel like a home. Communications with the owner were excellent. Cannot say enough good things about our short stay!
Remote area next to paved walking trails. Host had nice home decorating and snacks for us on arrival. Good communication and local food and piggly wiggly 10 min away. House comfortable fit 8 people and new appliances with starlink for Great wifi connection. Absolutely will come again!
This place was absolutely beautiful!! Loved that it had trail walks. When we arrived they had s’mores and stuff. For the fire. It was absolutely amazing. Definitely would do this trip again stay at the house.
We had a great stay. Absolutely zero complaints. Plenty of space for 6 adults and 2 pups. Beds were very comfortable. Very private location. Able to park 3 trucks in the circular drive and all were pulling trailers for our sxs. Short drive to Indian Mountain ATV Park. Would definitely book again.
The cabin was all that was listed and so much more! The thoughtful touches like chocolates and fresh water left in each bedroom, fixins for s’mores and microwave popcorn for cozy nights at home - the Chief Ladiga Trail is right there, so walking along that before coming back to the cabin to get ready for our next adventure was perfect. We were there for a reunion with family in the area and were already talking about our next trip - bringing bikes to ride the trail next time!! Thank you for letting us stay in your home
Spectacular cottage with lots of thoughtful touches
We loved our stay at this cottage. It was full thoughtful of touches like chocolates on the bed, labeled switches to help navigate the house, and even some smores ready for our arrival. We highly recommend it, especially if you enjoy cycling. It's right on the Chief Ladiga trail. We loved being able to pedal into Piedmont for coffee at Elevated Grounds as well as longer rides out to Georgia. Plenty of nearby hiking too.
Beautiful cottage surrounded by national forest. Almost magical trail. leave the house on you bike and pedal to atlanta or anniston with no worries of car traffic.
Hosts thought of everything from smore fixings, coffee, sweet treats- even firewood.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We will be back!
This was a great cabin/house. Very close to Highland Park if you would rather not camp, and also Cedar Town. If you are a road biker/MTB, the super long paved trail is walking distance from the cabin and is barely used. The bike trail is very beautiful and goes through the forest with mild elevation changes. I am not sure why there are not hundreds of people using this trail but that might be a good thing. The property is very quiet and relaxing with plenty of room. The host are very nice and helpful. We had a great stay.
Thanks from the Baughman Family we absolutely loved our stay , the hospitality and warmth and comfortability was just outstanding. It was exactly what my little family needed , if it were up to me I would stay a month lol definitely will be back soon ! Just was very welcoming and Sweet and on point with making us feel comfortable. Thanks Humie for having us and letting us make beautiful memories I can go on and on it was just so peaceful and we have been through so much losing everything in IDA the hurricane in Louisiana where we live so this was definitely great !
Where do I start? The 90 mile paved Chief Ladiga / Silver Comet trail in the Talledega National Forest - beautiful!, the Pinhoti Trail that leads to the A.T. Less than 1/4 mile away! - Dugger Mountain Guns And Fudge Shop in Piedmont - if you like fudge or chicken salad (YES the BEST homemade sandwich’s), Sugarless Sweets in Cedartown - a gluten free sugarless bakery to die for and Bloomin Miracles - a small Japanese maple nursery with over 100 available varieties at AMAZING prices! AND the fire pit, the house - everything! It is perfect and we stay once a year! Did I mention that Julie is the best host? Can’t go wrong!
I had a work trip scheduled in Jacksonville, wanted to bring my family! We have 3 under 10years old, and home school, so we knew we wanted something with a lot of space and privacy. A hotel was immediately out of the question, and other places seemed too sterile/ fragile for young children. So I was relieved when I found this cottage at a great price! We are used to living in the country in TN, so the kiddos can be loud and need lots of space- this was the PERFECT setting for us! Far enough from any hustle and bustle, but close enough to commute back and forth. From the fenced in portion of the yard for my youngest, to the fun rock stepping(jumping) stones, my kids requested I give this a 10/10! The internet was perfect for us, it was surprisingly easy to find, and so welcoming. The kids are already making their own plan to come back in the summer with their bikes!
The photos and description of this property do not do it justice. This home is cozy, inviting, and beautifully taken care of. You feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The rooms are clean, there are sufficient blankets, towels, and linens at your disposal. I appreciate that they had shampoo, conditioner and body wash available too.
The surrounding areas are so peaceful and enjoyable. We loved how close the bike path for the Chief Ladiga trail was and walked it every day of our stay. We also really enjoyed relaxing outside on the swing in the back of the property.
They had a s’mores kit and other snacks ready for us as well as waters in all the rooms. There were lots of board games and yard games available to use as well which we enjoyed!
The only downside was that some of the faucets were leaking and dripped and the blow dryer sounded like it was going to blow up when turned on.
However, the property managers were easy to communicate with and had quick response times.
We stayed here for 3 nights as a family of four as well as with our dog. We highly recommend this home and would happily return here for another quiet stay!
