This review is an old one so hopefully the hotel has changed hands in the last 5 years. Without getting into too much detail my 3 room booking was messed up by the staff and poorly handled by very rude management. Patong has so many cheap hotels, call up and ask whether it's changed hands recently before considering this one.

Empty hotel but put on top floor lift permanently out of order water in bathroom came out black as room had not been used for a long time very cheap so get what you pay for staff nice but did not stay

BEWARE OF BEDBUGS
This was the WORST hotel, I mean motel experience I've ever had. I arrived with my girlfriend at the hotel room, and started to inspect. I lifted the mattress and there was a HUGE bug on the box spring. Deal breaker! There were also lots of blood stains on the mattress and sheets, which is a prime indicator of bed bugs. We let the manager know and she moved us to another room. We checked it out, but it was the same deal here, with the blood stains on the mattress and sheets. We were afraid to even sit down. I let the manager know we weren't comfortable staying there, expected a full refund and left. Of course when I arrived back to the States and attempted to get my refund the manager confused me with another guest, and refused to refund me. UNACCEPTABLE! If you can avoid this place, please do. Oh yeah... there's also a very good reason they don't show the bathroom in any of the pictures. The joke was definitely on us.

I picked this facility without any prior knowlege of it based more on location than any thing else. it is a decent budget stay. I had no real issues. it is older and the facade reflects that. Rooms were clean and tended to everyday. Staff was helpful and polite. For a single guy looking for a room on a budget, in my opinion it would be a good stay.

Value for money, very very clean hotel for its age, for the price you cant ask for anymore, if you are looking for a budget place this is the place.

hotel was old, had to ask for new towels and i think we was unlucky because there was a hole in the tub. they had tried fixing it with silicone whith no luck. the people that worked her tried their best to no luck.

was a great cheap hotel and very very clean
close to the beach 1klm close too markets 500 meters and a seven eleven the staff are so help full and happy nice little bar great pool table swimming pool cleaned every morning and can go swimming any time off day or night nice sauna the gym needs up dating and new equipment that's the only down fall to this really nice clean hotel had a great time there and will go back again

Good option for a short holiday in Phuket
The hotel is located in south Phuket, near the beach. The center of town is some 20 minutes walk or a short taxi drive away. The staff is very nice and ready to help with everything you might need. The restaurant downstairs is also a nice place to have breakfast or dinner at. It's a pity that the swimming pool is located in an atrium and therefore doesn't get a lot of sun... but it's a good excuse to just head down to the beach instead.

Good for the price...
This hotel was comfy with fairly spacious rooms (especially for one person traveling alone) for 35 bucks a night it wasn't too bad. There is a pool but it's not great, no sun, always kinda dirty. Housekeeping did come and make up the bed and give fresh towels daily. However, I "lost" some money while staying here. Not necessarily by the staff and it wasn't a huge amount so it's fine but it was unsettling. (I noticed on the last day that there was a door in the hall going onto my balcony that was unlocked and accessible from the hallway so who knows who could have been in my room, kind of a scary thought). Overall, my stay was average but enjoyable for a single traveler.

Value for the money if book online only, convenient location, walking distance to beach, night market, many bars, restaurants, etc. Hotel reception not really professional but kind of friendly. Be aware of the elevator seems has some technical issues.

Fantastic 8 nights in Anchalee Inn
The hotel is perfectly situated at a very busy intersection with a bar terrace overlooking the passing throngs of tourists and locals - perfect for people watching - only a 3 minute stroll to the stunning patong beach - this is a laid back experience with delightful Thai staff - we spent a lot of time relaxing in the terrace restaurant bar as the comings/goings proved energising and fascinating - lasting until 3/4 am and beyond - rooms are exceptionally clean - excellent vaue for money - excellent facilities close to hand with Bangla Road 20 minutes evening stroll away - not to be missed of course - we loved it

perfect for my (single) travel needs
Always good reception from all staff, good value and well-cooked and well-presented food. Some rooms need tlc but well cleaned on daily basis. Good atmosphere in restaurant/bar area. Swimming pool underused, as very small with no outside views (only walls). Rooms well proportioned and good working air-con. Away from nightlife (about 1/2 mile) but easily commutable on foot or taxi. Good local facilities (7/11 etc). For single man this hotel serves my needs exactly, may be a little basic for some travellers but for me this small hotel is the perfect getaway. Should be returning in June (low season) next year. Overall 7 out of 10.

one for the family!!!!
On arrival 1st class greeting and very swift book in at 3am, completely hassle free, after almost 30 hours travel just what we needed, our room looked over main street so plenty of enjoyment while sitting out on the balcony in the evenings (perfectly situated), staff realy friendly and very helpfull. The pool was a delight and used constantly as the heat was extreme to say the least, would definitely reccomend and would like to book again next year, fantastic!! Adam ives

Typical hotel in Asia. Clean, cool, and comfortable. The shower was broken but within an hour someone was up in my room fixing it. I will stay here again when I go back to Phucket.

Perfect stay for cheap
The hotel was just a block away from patong beach and was a few blocks away from awesome nightlife. I recommend renting a scooter for just 250 bahts to get to the places in a matter of seconds. It was also nice that the hotel doubled as a restaurant, I highly recommend their pizza!

Enjoyable Stay
My stay at the hotel was a good one...The staff were friendly and helpful....The room was cleaned and tidy each day and the food was always nice...The location was excellent..close to the beach and all the local amenities....I booked for 10 days and if and when i visit Phuket again i will definately consider booking this hotel again.....

Budget Hotel with Pool
Relaxed hotel, booked the cheapest room for a couple of nights and wasn't expecting too much. Arrived late, around 1am, no problem with check-in, laid back staff. Cheapest room has no windows which I had no problem with but some people might want to fork out a little xtra for the natural light and balconies the other rooms have. Pool is a small bonus for the price range as is the exercise equipment. This is a budget hotel, not a resort, and is a 10-15 minute walk into the heart of Patong.

The hotel is clean and well situated (walking distance to the centre of Patong while enjoying some quietness). The staff is ultra friendly and very welcoming.

sheets had stains on, pool and pool chairs were filthy we had to tell them and they said ( you get what you pay for) the tables were dirty. we had to look for another hotel so we had a chunk of our spending money gone to pay for other hotel.

it was average, for a good price
It was ok, not missing much here. Location was great and only about a 5 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to the main strip of markets in Patong. Our room had no window so we were little dissapointed. It would of been nice to know and maybe we would of paid a little extra for a window. Room was clean however had a stale smell to it. Probably cause it had no window, no air circulation. The bathroom stunk so bad we had to keep the door closed. And even that didnt help. We only stayed one night as we were moving on to the islands. Overall, if your looking for a cheap budget hotel its a good fit with a great location. There is also a pool but really didn't look too appealing. And we didnt see one person in it at all. Picture's online dont do justice.

Very comfortable, classic style cheap hotel. In fact we read other reviews on this web site before choosing it and we were not disappointed. We suggest it for all and if again in town we will stay here again.

We arrived to find I had a room with no windows or balcony, it was very depressing. Had to pay additional 300bht per night to upgrade to room with balcony. Staff were Ok but not that helpful. Had problem with Mastercard requiring to ring Australia took a while to make them understand that I needed to make a phone call. Charged siginificant amount for call but they stated no knowledge of how to contact local operator to get reverse call charges to bank. English spoken but inadequate depending on staff member. Next time will select a different accomodation.Significantly better accomodation available at similar overall cost. Location was Ok can walk about 15 mins to Patong beach.Hotel pool was relatively small with ladder which needed repairs.It also had a restuarant where Western food was prepared was OK but toast was cold everytime. Thai food I thought could have been better.

Ok location. Decor was very old school and the pool was completely in the shade so we made little use of it. The main reason for staying there was that it was a good price for somewhere with a pool but without sun it was useless. The main issue was that there were no safes in the rooms only behind the reception. And these literally consisted of a wooden box with a pad lock you would buy for around £2. For the same price with no pool you can get a better location, more modern, cleaner with better security.

Fair deal for fair rate
Away from hustle and bustle of Bangla Road(800 meters walk), Anchalee is one of many hotels littered around Patong beach. Nothing overly outstanding in promise or delivery, it was an okay experience but not enough to dissuade us to look up other hotels to try in the area. All in all fair deal for a fair price. Nothing to complain but nothing to gush as well.

I had a wonderful experience at that hotel, personnel are great, they don't forget what you like. The food was great with a good variety of choice. The place is good close enough of the beach and Bangala road but far enough to have piece if wanted. Restaurant and bar got a lot of customer so you can meet some one for friendship or more...

Don't stay here!
This hotel is terrible. The staff was not friendly, the water wasn't working and when it was it came out brown in colour. The hotel entrance had little lighting and was dingy. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

I only stayed here for one night but i liked it. It was one block from the beach and everyone that worked there was nice. The night crew barely spoke english but understood all my questions. The rooms were clean and my overall experience there was good. For the price you cant beat it

Very Good Inn near Patong Beach in Phuket.
Its a good Inn, with all the Amenities. The rooms were Clean & quite spacious. Also the staff was quite polite & helping which is hard to get in Thailand.The Inn has a swimming pool, sauna & pool table, all of which you can use without paying any extra charges. Also the Wi-fi connectivity is good. It is located just 300meters away from the Patong Beach, so can go to Beach anytime ones want. But it is a bit far from the Phuket Bus Station, so if you are coming by bus to Phuket & then need to go to Anchalee Inn, then it is a 25-30mins drive & the Tuk-Tuk will charge around you 100Baht per person, which can be less if you very good bargaining skills. The Taxi's available from Phuket bus station charge 450Baht for 4 people. Anchallee Inn also has a restaurant on the Ground floor. Also there are some good Agents office's near Anchalee Inn from where you can book the tour for phi phi or phang nga bay islands. So all & all its a very good Inn for the price you get. I would recommend this Inn, if you are looking at some cheap places to stay in Phuket.

I enjoyed my stay at Anchalee Inn the owner lives there and take pride keeping the place up. You can find cheaper places to eat but for the easy of use and quality of the food I eat at the hotel several time. I booked last minute and they gave me a room without a window and that was terrible for a week but I don't want to say the whole hotel is bad the hotel seemed good the staff was helpful. I used the onsite gym several times and the pool walking to the beach was about 5 minutes away and it is at the end of a busy street of shops.

Got to Anchalee Inn, it's OK at best. Location is fine, handy for the beach and Patong madness. Arrived and they walked us down the road to a far inferior hotel, which we found out was much cheaper than Anchalee and put us in a double bed, when we stipulated twin on our booking. Then had the audacity to try and charge us for another room for a room with a second bed. Avoid!!!

The hotel is definitely not very sound proof and one is constantly awakened at night by the youthful visitors who stay out drinking until 4 or 5 in the morning. The wi-fi in the hotel never worked and repeated inquiries about this brought no satisfaction. The swimming and fitness venues looked appalling, as though they hadn't been used for many years and no one was ever seen using them. When I upgraded to a better room my balcony allowed me to see the wall of another hotel and the wall of one under construction (I would have changed hotels but most were full at peak travel time). The A/C in the new room was very poor for very hot and humid Phuket; when I inquired about it I was told to wait a while, (a few hours?), and then the room would feel cooler. While this may have been a good hotel 10 to 20 years ago, this is definitely not a place one would want to spend a vacation in Phuket. It is about 15 minutes walk to the beach, but almost every hotel in Phuket is also about the same, or less. The price does not accord with the quality of the hotel; it should be much cheaper.
