The best time to visit Phu Kradueng is during the cool, dry season, typically from October to February.
During these months, the weather is most pleasant for hiking and exploring the national park. You'll experience cooler temperatures, especially in the mornings and evenings, making the ascent and the treks across the plateau much more comfortable. The skies are generally clear, offering excellent visibility for the panoramic views from the cliff edges like Pha Mak Duk and Pha Lom Sak. It's also when the park is fully open, with all facilities and trails accessible.
For those who enjoy cooler weather and are keen on long hikes, the months of November and December are particularly good. During this period, the temperatures can drop significantly at night, sometimes requiring a light jacket even during the day, which is a welcome change from Thailand's usual heat. This makes it ideal for couples and groups of friends looking for an active and refreshing getaway.
While the park is technically open until May, the heat and humidity increase significantly from March onwards, making the strenuous climb and subsequent hikes much more challenging.
