Property is absolutely amazing. Great location. Pool is wonderful. House is really nice. Third time staying here and it gets better everytime! Absolutely love it!!
My family stayed in Don's home for two weeks during Spring Training. The home is as advertized in the pictures. It is very comfortable and well laid out. The crown jewel of this place is its oasis of a backyard in the middle of the desert. The pool and yard are beautiful, quiet and private. A great yard for dogs as it is completely fenced with lots of real grass. The only negative I found was the location. It is on the northern outskirts of Phoenix and every place we went took at least 30 minutes. I think the problem was there is no easy access to freeways. The neighborhood itself was quiet and older. No restaurants or stores were close by. The owner and property manager were both easily accessible. A nice place to stay, especially if you want to just relax in the beauty of the backyard.

If All You Want is a Great Pool
Stayed for 17 days to visit family & friends. The pool is perfect and the yard protected and private. And bird watching great. However, an otherwise lovely home is in need of maintenance, improvement and care. Both master bedroom sinks continuously drip, the carpet is horribly stained, vacuuming inadequate as golf balls, tissue, dog bones and pills were under the couch, found by my 6 year old nephew. Animal hair was on the couch, which I spent a bit of time vacuuming. Cob webs around the kitchen window. The front window was left open when we arrived because it was stuck. No screen door to main sliding glass door. Screen to bedroom slider is stuck. Mis-matched, threadbare and stained towels were everywhere. Sheets are rolled up and shoved in a closet with no idea on which bed they go to. It was a 3-day scavenger hunt trying to find items you knew had to be there. But in the end no hair dryer or ironing board. Noodles for the pool disintegrated when we used them leaving the pool with shredded plastic. We threw them away and purchased 6 new ones. Also purchased a hair dryer. I could go on and on. After awhile we got use to the conditions, except the carpets. They are gross!
Pool, hot tub and yard were amazing! Plenty of room for our group of 6 and we didnt even use the whole house. Very helpful and responsive property managwr next door. With a little maintenance and upkeep, this property could be incredible. We thouroughly enjoyed our time here!
Comfortable house with a wonderful pool tucked away in a residential area of north Phoenix. Kitchen layout is perfect for family meals and poolside area was comfortable for outside dining and entertaining.
Three bedrooms, two of them smallish so number sleeping is limited. Otherwise home is spacious and has pretty much everything you could want.
Best part is the host/owner who is welcoming and responsive.
Definitely one of my best VRBO experiences ever.
Home is absolutely wonderful!! Super clean and easy to get to. Pool is awesome!! Home owner Don is easy to contact and super friendly. Bill next door is always available if questions arise. Second time staying at the property and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. Thank you Don for an amazing stay!!! We look forward to coming back year after year. A+++++++++
Thank you sooooooooo much!!!
We had the opportunity to stay at this property for 3 weeks! It had all the comforts and conveniences of home. It came equipped with really fast wifi/internet service which was a necessity. We had four people working and doing school online along with all of our mobile devices. The best part of this home is the fantastic pool and spa. The backyard gets sun all day and the covered patio offers shade if you need it. Great communication with our hosts. Couldn’t ask for more!
Very comfortable and well equipped. A little issue with the pool. The water was very green for several days. Neighbor was helpful and worked to clear it up, but took several days, so we actually had clear pool water for only 1 day. Overall, this is a great place . WIFI is great, appliances are high end. Property just needs some simple maintenance. Property owner was quick to respond to our questions. Beauty and privacy of yard was spectacular. Easily accessible to stores and resteraunts. If you have the chance, go to Scottsdale and eat at Zinc Bistro.
The pool and back yard were the star of the property, especially with our nine year old twin grandchildren who spent hours in the pool. The neighborhood is quiet and the property is private in spite of close proximity of other houses. The house served our purpose well. It has a large kitchen with full range of cooking utensils adequate to make any meal. The only thing I would say is that it would not sleep six adults comfortably since bedroom 3 had only a futon and crib. We took an aerobed with us, just in case, which our grandson slept on so everything worked out well in the end. Bill, the next door neighbor was very helpful a time or two and we made gallons of fresh lemonade and ate tons of grapefruit from the trees in the yard. We all had a great time.!
Absolutely wonderful experience!! Don was quick to respond to emails and made check in a breeze. Property was beautiful and the pool amazing!!! By the end of our visit I had grown gills! Everything was perfect!! Definitely will be going back!! Thank you Don for everything!!!!
I loved the property. Houses were close but totally fenced and very private. Nice neighborhood. House was very nice and well layed out. Backyard is amazing. Yard was fairly large and again amazing Backyard. Easy access to shopping. Don was very easy to communicate with. And neighbor was very friendly. Enjoyed our visit very much.

Lovely yard, but house needs updating
Myself and 2 friends were planning to stay for 6 weeks in Phoenix. After reading through the previous reviews, all of the issues we had with the property had occurred in past stays. The owner was kind enough to add the peacock channel so we could watch the Olympics while we were there and help with the cable.
The house has the following problems:
-The hot tub won’t heat up past 90- and that took about 5 hours.
-The linens were mismatched and had spots on some of them. Also, there were no linens that fit the twin bed.
-The bedroom closets are full of random stuff.
-The garbage disposal didn’t work and we were told it was too much trouble to fix.
At one point we wanted to use the blender only to discover a huge hole in the container. The house, in general, looks old. Someone needs to go through this house and declutter and check that everything is in working order.
Overall, we had a great stay. property was about 30 minutes to everything we wanted to visit. The home provided a great rest and launch pad for us to visit family in the area, tour Scottsdale, Tempe, Sedona, airport and other destinations. Great hiking trails within 10 to 30 minutes from the home. You need your own log-in for ESPN if you plan to watch bowl or championship games or watch other programs. enjoy!
First, this place was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Not perfect, but overall a really enjoyable experience.
Second, notable & pleasant aspects:
1. Solar panels. Most people won't care, but I did.
2. The pool. Nice ambience (little water fall from hot tub into main pool). Large enough tanning surface nice. No really shallow areas except for tanning surface -- depths around 4'-5'. Rock decor impressive.
3. Good appliances and spacious kitchen. Did not use stove, but did use the refrigerator, the freezer (and ice dispenser), & dishwasher. Disposal was a little shaky. Coffee maker was interesting; made good coffee. Grill heated up quickly and intensely. Washer and dryer worked nicely. Did not use TV.
4. Nice office area and furniture except for lighting and non-working fan. WiFi worked well.
5. Overall house layout was open, furniture was comfortable. Did not use living room or dining room; spent most time in kitchen, on deck, in office, or in BR. Garage a clutter. Garage door a bit shaky.
6. Landscaping. Minimal lawn around pool; otherwise, very naturalized. Entire place with exception of the driveway is enclosed within the walls which gives a private oasis effect. Remarkably well treed. Nice view from patio and deck to mountain.
Third, Quirks:
1. It's a guy's place. Reminds me of my late father -- never throw anything away because you might need it in ten years. The list of quirks is too long for space available so unsolicited advice:
A. Write more comprehensive guidance, not just for electronics and WiFi: coffee maker, grill, pool, etc., Stuff people use.
B. Dispense with all but one place setting; Dispense with about half or more of the glasses. Too much clutter!
C. Gather the manuals into one place (I did that), and write some guidance -- especially for the coffee maker (notice a theme?)
D. Pool maintenance. I bought chemical tester before finding one. Chemicals way out of balance; pool had to be shocked, & PH reduced. Popups not working as far as I could tell. Algae was noticeable. Adventure to clean debris filters. (Guide! Manuals!).
E. Get rid of most of the cutlery. Get a real chef's knife, paring knife, and bread knife. Two tongs are enough. Get rid of at least half of the glassware.
F. Worst aspect of the house was the interior lighting; it sucked. All direct, so impossible to read in bed, and difficult to work in office. Get some lamps.
Overall, despite the quirks, a very pleasant place to call home for a week.
We had a great stay during our time in AZ. We had the pool heated which the kids loved but wished the spa would have gotten warmer. The beds were extremely firm so just a heads up if that is or is not your preference. A trundle under the daybed would have been a great thing to have but we made it work. The view was beautiful out the back and it was fun being able to pick fresh lemons and make lemonade. There weren’t many pool towels so we ended up buying a couple but I also didn’t check about the linen situation before. Overall we had a great stay. The neighbor was very helpful if we had any immediate concerns.

Snow Bird Dream
We enjoyed the very private yard, comfortable seating in television area, Roku TV, new kitchen appliances, new toilet in guest bath, lights on patio, and an abundance of sunshine. The owner is a very kind person who communicates well and has few fees and deposits. Our stay was for 61 nights.
The owner’s VRBO description states that this home is in excellent condition and lived-in very little. With the exception of the living room, new kitchen appliances, and new toilet in the guest bath, this is inaccurate. The carpet is very worn and soiled, the paint throughout the house is soiled, the master bath has badly damaged linoleum and dirty carpet, and the towel rack is bent and hanging out of the wall. The cabinet in the guest bath is badly damaged.
We arrived to a broken kitchen faucet (which the owner repaired at our request), broken drain cover in hot tub (which the owner repaired after one of us cut our foot), and broken lounge chairs by the pool. We were told that if we wanted replacement lounge chairs that was "on us". There are no side tables by the pool for drinks or books, so we used some plastic tubs that we brought from home. We requested that the light in the hot tub be repaired since it is a safety hazard at night. It had still not been replaced when we left.
We arrived to toys, bottle caps, candy wrappers, etc. throughout the house. The vacuum was full with no replacement bags until we requested them and the mop was damaged and unusable. The condition of the carpet and flooring throughout the home make it difficult to rate this home as clean.
It's time for someone to organize and inventory the items in the cupboards, closets, and cabinets throughout the house. We had to invest in serving bowls and a mixing bowl as there were none. Some of the cookware is chipped.
There is no mail service at this home. If you're staying long term and need your mail, it will require you to go to the post office and stand in what is typically a long, slow line to pick up your mail.
The owner’s response time to our requests for items that were in need of repair was always great, however, it felt to us like he relies solely on his guests to prompt him to make repairs rather than proactively caring for his property.
We hope this review is helpful to the owner and to people choosing a place to stay. We believe this place has a lot of potential, however, we prefer to stay somewhere that is proactively maintained.
Owner excellent communicator and friend/neighbor available to take care of any issues you have. Only issue was the hot tub could be a bit hotter for cool late Nov. nights. Overall great place - even better than pictures!

House was ok.
Got to the house and it was ok. It was nice a well kept and could tell that it was a rental. The home was clean, not my type of clean but it was ok and worked. House had an incredible pool and nice big backyard, the pool light and the hot tub light didn’t work so it was really dark at night. The biggest problem we had is that we were there for a month and we had to kill 10 scorpions. Nasty little creature. The pest company came out a couple times but it did not help, I think it just pissed them off and they were everywhere.
Endless hours of relaxing in the backyard and nicely heated large pool. Kitchen equipped with necessities and a few cooking basics. Beds comfortable with ok linens, better sheets, towels, and pool towels would be recommended. Tv area comfortable. Good location to walk to lookout mtn/park. 15-20 minute drive to shopping or restaurants. Overall a good place

Nice home in a great location close to everything.
We all loved the heated pool (extra charge), it was definitely worth it. The seller was great to work with and the neighbor was very helpful. We would stay again.
