Nestled in the rolling vineyards of the magnificent Haut-Mâçonnais region, between viticulture, agriculture, and the great outdoors, in a protected ZNIEFF area (for its rich fauna and flora), blending bucolic vineyard slopes and hedged meadows in the gentle wooded hills of the southern Burgundy massif (a wild area largely protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone," ideal for hiking or mountain biking, offering exceptional panoramic views all the way to Mont Blanc on a clear day!), the charming, typical village of Péronne enjoys a sublime landscaped setting, has a supermarket, and boasts a notable heritage (a listed 12th-century Romanesque church, various castles and manor houses, including the former hunting lodge of Alphonse de Lamartine, a famous resident of the area).
