We had an amazing stay in the Penthouse! The views of the bay were beautiful. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee and our nightly hot tub hangs on the rooftop. The condo was clean, spacious, and probably the most well stocked condo we’ve ever stayed in. Just a short 10ish min walk to the beach side with the beautiful white sand and clear waters. We would definitely return in the future!

Destin West Great Location and access.

I love staying at Destin West. It is located on both the ocean and bay side with a walkway over the road. Easy access to the boardwalk and a boat rental next to it. They have several swimming pools and a Lazy River to float around on.

Amazing location on Oakaloosa Island!! Perfect size condo for our family of 5. Very well appointed kitchen, amazingly clean and all of the outside space you could ever ask for.

Great place that has it all

With young kids we found the condo easy to relax in and easy to get to the pool and a beautiful beach. A quick walk to good shopping and food on the boardwalk or a short drive to other places. The condo was very comfortable and spacious.

Awesome Thanksgiving Get A Way

We had a fabulous stay and loved the condo and the rooftop deck with the hot tub was the icing on the cake. An easy walk to the beach, restaurants and bars. Highly recommended.

Can't say enough great things about our experience! Views were amazing! This property and the communication with Shelley is what all future vacations will be judged against because this was the best experience we've ever had! We'll be back to Destin West for sure!

Great family vacation destination

Beautiful condo with amazing views! Shelley and her team were so easy to work with and made our trip very enjoyable. We spent most of our time at the pool or made the short walk to the beach. We would love to come back.

Rock by the Sea -

We performed at a favorite charity event, Rock by the Sea. The accommodations were spectacular, the location in proximity to the venue can't be beat. The lazy river is AMAZING! We hope to be invited back.

Best condo at Destin West!

I have been staying at condos at Destin West for about 16 years now, and this is by far my favorite condo! Impeccably clean, nice size rooms, and perfect location. Owner (Shelley) was awesome and super responsive with her communication. The only downside is that there is not a third bathroom/powder room, but we managed just fine. I would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful views of the bay

We enjoyed our stay in the Heron building. The pools & property was well maintained. Our unit was spacious & decorated beautifully. Shelley provided a portable AC unit which was used in the master bedroom. We felt the bedrooms were a little warm, but understood as we stayed in August. We would definitely return to Destin West.

Great location and Quiet

This was our first trip to Okaloosa Island. We loved that it was quiet and not overly crowded. Yet you could walk to restaurants and shops and drive into Destin quickly. We liked staying on the bay side because of the lazy river. But it was also nice to easily walk over to the beach side. The property was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The views from the balconies were amazing. We would visit again.

Beautiful, clean penthouse with stunning views.

This condo/penthouse was wonderful. Very clean and spacious for our whole family. The kids loved the lazy river, outdoor pools/hot tubs in the common area. Rick’s on the island is very convenient if you need a place to eat and don’t want to drive- It’s right next door! Shelly is great at communicating if you need anything. I would highly recommend!

Everything was great about this location and property. I was a little confused probably my fault on the grill part. I thought there was a grill on the deck of the penthouse with the hot tub, but I must’ve gotten that confused with another listing or didn’t read the fine print, but overall everything was convenient, easy to access easy to communicate. spacious. Great views, easy to access both Fort Walton and Destin, Crab Island etc

Favorite condo at Destin West!

This is a well maintained (updated) condo, with a wonderful view of the bay. Plenty of cooking supplies in the kitchen, and cleaning supplies to clean up spills and accidents easily. There is not a lighting option up top by the hot tub, other than the light in the hot tub. Which I guess is a benefit if you want lots of privacy ;-) I will always book this place if it’s available!

My visit to this condo was exactly as listed. The condo was very clean and well maintained. I have never been a fan of bay side rentals but I think my mind has been changed. Each morning we saw sting ray’s, fish and an occasional dolphin. It was such a calm experience. Shelley’s communication was excellent and the best I have ever had out of a VRBO rental host. I would definitely recommend this condo and stay here again!! Thank you so much!

Best Bay Side Trip Ever!

I can’t even begin to tell you what an amazing experience we had at Shelley’s place! The space is gorgeous and FULL of anything you could ever want or need. We cooked every meal (she had all the kitchen equipment possible!) and spent evenings snuggling on the couch watching movies and she had so many extra pillows and blankets, which was wonderful! The hot tub on the roof was such an added bonus, especially being there in December! The views were incredible, the property itself was lovely, and when we wanted to walk on the beach it was a quick few steps across the sky walk! We can’t wait to stay here again- what an incredible experience we had! Thank you Shelley!!

Great Location and View

The condo was a great layout for our family of 6. The location and view were amazing. I really enjoyed watching the dolphins play in the bay right in front of the condo in the mornings. It was so peaceful. The stay was great up until the few hours after we checked out. I received an email from the host upset and claiming that we left a dirty diaper and hangers under one of the bed. I explained that we didn’t have anyone in diapers nor did we use any hangers during our trip. We conversed back and forth a bit regarding the issue and she was able to finally determine it was a housekeeping issue and from a previous guest and was then very apologetic. It was a bummer this happened and put a little damper on the whole experience but I was relieved that she realized it wasn’t us who left the mess under the bed.

Perfect Vacation

We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. The condo was clean and comfortable. The balcony was very nice and the access to the roof was a plus. It was very hot, so we didn’t really use the hot tub too much. We really enjoyed fishing on the sound as well as swimming in the multiple pools and the lazy river. Access to the beach did require a few elevator rides and a walk, but it wasn’t too bad. Having a beach set-up was a big plus. The location was great. Close to Destin, but far enough to avoid the massive crowds. There are some great beachfront restaurants right across the street and the pier is within walking distance. We thought we would be driving into Destin a few times, but only went once to do a fishing charter. Turns out we didn’t even need to do that because there are Charters right next door to this resort. Other than going to the grocery store, there is no need to ever get back in your car. Everything you would want to do is right at your doorstep. I can’t wait to go back.
