Very disappointing
This was our second time staying at the Purple Parrot and we were looking forward to our stay. I called in April to make sure that our stay wouldn't be affected by construction because I had read a negative review by someone that said theirs way. I was assured that our unit would be completely done before we got there.
When we checked in, I had to sign some paper saying that I knew about the construction. I was also assured that our unit was finished and wouldn't be affected by the construction.
Unfortunately, we were very much affected by the construction. And when I called to report the issues, the woman I spoke with was very rude but said she would send someone to address the issues. No one ever came.
The issues are as follows:
-front porch full of paint cans, trash, broken furniture. We couldn't even walk to the door. We had to move lamps out of the way. When I told the woman about this, she very rudely told me "well you're in a construction zone! What do you expect?" What do I expect? I expect to be able to walk through the porch without tripping hazards and to be able to relax on the porch during my vacation. I don't feel that's a lot to ask for.
-tv in loft did not work at all. The kids could not use it and that was the main reason we got a room with a loft.
-tv in bedroom worked very badly. The picture was distorted and blue and white spots would appear every time it was turned on
-all of the light fixtures had 1 or 2 bulbs that did not work
-multiple outlets did not work
-ice maker did not work
-exhaust fan in bathroom made a very frightening sound.....we thought a wire was short or something because it would pop and so we did not use it.
-wall paper and paint peeling from walls, especially in bathro
-mold on walls throughout, especially in bathroom
-bathroom and bedroom door would not shut completely or lock
-closet in bedroom was full of furniture, so we could not use it
I have tried to contact them post vacation three times and have yet to be replied to. So I am now posting this review online in hopes that others will be cautious of their stay. If you're under construction and it's affecting all of the units then please be honest about it.
