About this property

The Cabin at the End of the Road - Private nature escape with Hot Tub

  • Your Cabin
This thoughtfully appointed cabin sits at the edge of the Ouachita River, surrounded by towering hardwoods and the sounds of moving water. Step through to your private hot tub room, where the warm glow of the lights sets a calming, spa-like mood.
Upstairs, the deck feels like a perch in the forest canopy. Sip your morning coffee above the treetops, or stay out after dark to roast marshmallows under one of the darkest, most star-filled skies in Arkansas. On clear nights, the Milky Way stretches overhead and fireflies drift through the trees below. Keep your eyes open — Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons, and even the occasional Roadrunner have been known to make an appearance.

    Truly Unplugged
No cell service on the property, but wifi is available from Starlink, which you can use for streaming, wifi calling, texting, social media, etc.
This is a place to actually rest and enjoy nature, step away from your device if you can!

On the Water & On the Trails
The Ouachita River is a short walk or drive down on the property. Canoe, kayak, or float a lazy tube downriver past towering rocky bluffs draped in wildflowers, shaded by centuries-old trees. The river is gentle and family-friendly — mostly Class I–II rapids between long, glassy pools — and exceptional for fishing. Smallmouth, largemouth, and spotted bass are abundant, along with bluegill, catfish, walleye, longear sunfish, and more.
On-site activities include canoe and kayak rentals, swimming, fishing, or exploring the national forest adjacent to the property: trails into the National Forest begin just steps from your cabin door.
Shuttle service is available for guests bringing their own kayak or canoe, for an additional fee. We encourage you to pre-book this service.
Nearby, the Womble Trail, Ouachita Trail, and Lake Ouachita Vista Trail are regarded as some of the finest mountain biking and hiking routes in the region. More secluded forest trails like Fourche Mountain Trail are perfect for ATV exploration. Horseback riding, crystal mining, and biking opportunities are all within easy reach.

The Crystal Capital of the World
You're in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains, home to the most extraordinary quartz crystal deposits on earth. Mount Ida — just a short drive away — is known worldwide as the Quartz Crystal Capital of the World. Whether you're a seasoned rock hound or a first-time digger, this is a rare and memorable experience.

    When to Visit
March through November brings the most popular conditions on the river, with spring's wildflowers, summer's cool shade, and fall's brilliant foliage making every season its own reward. Winter brings a quieter, more intimate kind of beauty.

We live on-site and are reachable via text or message any time.
Pet friendly — $40 per pet per night, paid at the resort.
