"Love the property. All kinds of birds. There was a running creek and a pond which allowed us to be serenaded by frogs at night. Everything was well kept up. Neighborhood felt safe at night. Found a little café in La Fortuna that specialized in chocolate, Absolutely delicious there."

"We had so much fun here, and it was a wonderful place to come and relax after a day of activities. Very unique cabin, with porch right on the pond. Friendly ducks, dogs, and it was great hearing all of the different bird calls. Very close to restaurants and things, but felt remite and private. Comfortable bed. "Our Green Treasure House stay was great! The grounds, the outdoor living space and the pool were beautiful. The house itself was pretty basic but the beds were comfortable and the cabin was very clean. There was no need to spend time in the house because the outdoor space was so inviting. We felt very secure as the property was fenced and gated. It did require a taxi or Uber to go anywhere. We loved the property and would highly recommend it."

"One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The house is rustic and a little rough around the edges but that is all accounted for in the price and clear in the listing. The village of Santa Elena is close by and great for dining and shopping. Just string the hammock up on the porch and relax."

"The cabin was in a pretty location on the side of a small lake — but the location doesn't match that on VRBO which states it's in La Fortuna town. It's actually several miles out of town, which was a problem for us since we didn't have a rental car and there's no public transport serving the area. The owner offered us a lift into La Fortuna on our first day, but beyond that we had to keep booking Ubers which also were quite unreliable. The cabin was nice but could do with a bit of upkeep —...

"The owners were lovely and gave us a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom cabin which was ideal for us with 2 young children. It had a well equipt kitchen. We did have a few ants coming in but when we told the owner they came down to spray the cabin. Great having a pool at the property for unwinding after a busy day in nature. The town was a 5 minute drive and it was really easy and cheap to get taxis there. Would definitely recommend staying here."

"We had a fantastic stay here. Super clean, safe, easy to get in/out and close to town and all there is to do in the area. We don’t use the pool (too busy) but it was clean, and close. The view of the volcano was superb and it was a very quiet place to stay."

"Our room was nice and clean and we had a beautiful view out of our bedroom window and off of our balcony. There was a river that runs right behind the rooms, it was great listening to that a night. It was great sitting out on our balcony, the balcony is compact though. The little kitchen was nice and suited our needs just fine. Unfortunately the pool was not working while we were there, but it was to cool and it was raining the whole time so we wouldn't have used it anyway. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Castillo. The terrace had an amazing view of Arenal volcano, and we saw so many birds in the backyard. It was amazing to have coffee in morning and watch clouds roll through valley and listen to birdsong. The location is convenient for getting to Fortuna and nearby parks for hiking, but Castillo feels much more quaint and quiet for enjoying peaceful evenings. We cooked in kitchen and had everything we needed to prepare meals. We also loved Ventanita restaurant...
