This was an amazing, winter wonderland kind of vacation, and our hosts were responsive and incredibly thoughtful as we found ourselves there during a blizzard and potential power outage. They reached out to us (not the other way around, as we were still traveling and hadn’t seen the weather reports), offering candles, water, and snow shoveling to make sure our stay remained safe, comfortable and fun. We never lost power but we remained impressed by the level of care provided. The home is intentionally more remote and that’s why we were drawn to it - it’s an easy drive to Baraga, Houghton, or Hancock, and it still provides privacy and a feeling of being in the wilderness. If you’re interested in a dog sledding experience, there is a reputable dog sledding business just about a 10 minute drive from the house. We loved the sauna, the rooms and spaces are all exactly as described, and we had an all around lovely time.
