This was not our typical summer family vacation but with all that's going on this year we decided to try something different. This is what led us to do a nice long weekend at Pebble Creek. We enjoyed our stay and the time to just relax together as a family. The pavilion was especially nice and we enjoyed having dinner there in the evenings. We used the grill at the Pavilion to cook Hot dogs, Hamburgers and Hobo packets. My husband built us a fire two evenings so that we could enjoy some S'mores. It is a little bit of a trek from the cabin to the Pavilion but there is a road that you can drive down should you need to. The cabin itself is nice and had ample room and plenty of beds for everyone (8 Adults, 3 Kids) to stay there, so we did not need to use the bedrooms at the Pavilion. We felt that the cabin could have used a better cleaning before we arrived but we did some wiping down and sweeping of our own, which helped. This may just be more of our issue and the fact that maybe we aren't the woodsy/rustic type. The bedrooms and bathrooms were pretty clean. The master bedroom (on the main floor) and loft area were great and the downstairs bedroom area was good except for a musty odor. We did encounter a few bugs, one GIANT spider and a dead mouse in the cabin but some of these are probably to be expected in this type of setting. Luckily we had brought totes with us which we tried to use to store our food and other items in so that we didn't have little critters getting into them. Unfortunately at least one bug made it home with us, in one of the totes, but thankfully we had left the tote outside while emptying it. I feel bad pointing out a few negatives because overall this was a great property, in a peaceful setting, with beautiful surroundings. One other note - if you have young ones that want to play in the river be sure to take the path through the trees that are between the pavilion and the river because that will lead you to a little "beachy" area where kids can play along the waters edge or wade in just a little. We didn't happen upon this little area until our last evening there but we had found other little areas along the river that the kids could play in. Thank you Connie for sharing your Pebble Creek property with us.
