We stayed here a few days after the Hurricane had come through. We were initially not sure if we would even be able to come due to the devastation around the area. We called the Property Manager, Melissa, and asked if she even wanted people to come stay with plenty of other, more serious things to worry about. She told us the house was in good shape and had not been affected by floods. My group came down, loaded with supplies that we donated to the locals, and pulled into this little piece of heaven.
The house itself was immaculate, situated on a wonderfully serene piece of land. The only noise you ever heard was from an occasional car or bird passing by. It was quite peaceful. We had six in group and never felt crowded or cramped. With the fully stocked kitchen, we were able to enjoy some wonderful home-cooked meals.
The house was so clean and well taken care of, that it felt like a home and not just a vacation spot. We were very grateful for all of the help Melissa gave us in terms of giving us directions to local places, and for her genuine hospitality.
It was about 5-minute drive to the closest store (Dollar Store in Parrottsville) and about 15-20 minutes to the nearest major town (Newport). We averaged about 45 minutes to an hour to visit Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but those rides were very easy and quite scenic.
If you're looking to escape the hectic life of the city, or just looking for place to unwind and relax, this is the place for you!
