We highly recommend staying at Hacienda mil Bellezas. The hiking trails are excellent and spending time in the swimming holes was a highlight of our stay. Hearing the river from the casa was so relaxing, and we also really enjoyed the pool with the beautiful jungle backdrop. Markus, Carla and everyone there were incredibly nice, helpful and accommodating. We had some great meals there and would happily return again.
Great fun here with three kids. We stayed
In the 3 bedroom house which was rustic and had what we needed. We enjoyed the hiking and river swimming and the beautiful pool and view! You can tell there is lots of work and love that goes into this property. It you want nature, adventure and tranquility you’ll find it here!
Markus has developed a really nice property. It’s in a cool location, with trails and waterfalls. Beautiful houses and pool. Dinner was made for us on site. It was really tasty! Big thumbs up.
Only thing missing was a more comfortable chair for the porch. Nights cooled down and the house had great air flow. Easy to get to beach and Manuel Antonio. Best of all were the local waterfalls and natural pools that Ellie the farm dog was more than happy to escort you to.
Markus is the best. He truly does everything to make the stay exactly what we wanted. The horse back riding was a wonderful treat, even for our kids that have never been on a horse before. The pool area is so beautiful only to be outdone by the natural pools out at the end of the hiking trails on this magical property. I would highly recommend this property to anyone that loves nature and wants to see the best of Costa Rica. Thank you Markus!
Lovely stay for one night with my family as we headed south. Markus is a great host. There are multiple casitas and a house which we stayed in. Basic but had everything we needed. My daughter and i went for an amzing horse ride in the morning with markus and another guest. The horses are well cared for and happy. There is an amazing waterfall and swimming area that we ended up at to cool off. There is also a lovley large swimming pool by the accomodations. The dogs are so sweet and friendly. We had dinner and breakfast with the rest of the guests, meeting others from Germany and Hungary. Dinner was typical casados and homemade soup and breakfast typical eggs, gallo pinto, fruit, toast.
3 night stay in a beautiful, private jungle escape.
This place was truly incredible and exactly what we were looking for. There is a private waterfall and swimming area that you HAVE to take advantage of. In addition to the scenic beauty of the entire property they had a very friendly chocolate lab named Elly who came to our villa every day and sat with us for hours. Our host Markus was wonderful and responsive. We had no problem with the WIFI and streamed Netflix in the evenings before bed. If I could have changed anything in all honestly, I would have liked for there to be an air conditioner in the villa. When we were there, it was in the mid 90's every day and after hiking and excursions it would have been nice to cool the room for relief. With that said I would absolutely stay there again!!!!!
Beautiful, everything was great and everyone so very nice. The food was amazing and property is beautiful. The location is kind of hard to find and impossible at night, so if you leave be sure to try and get back before nightfall. This property has everything to offer. When it comes to exploration, beautiful, walking paths, we saw so many monkeys, beautiful, waterfalls, and pond to swim in. The horseback riding was lots of fun. There’s plenty to do on the property without even having to leave it. The lodge we stayed in was nice, but it’s very hot and it would have been nice to have a floor fan in both rooms at night. The only thing that I had a hard time with were the sugar ants. They were everywhere in every room not even around food/drinks. It made it hard to sleep. I 100% know this is part of the jungle sene and have NO problems with it, but if you’re looking for something bug free this isn’t your place.
The grounds and pool of this property are stunning. We were thoroughly impressed with our walks on the trails and our time by the pool. Markus is amiable and knowledgeable .
We stayed there with 3 adults and 3 kids 4-6 yr olds. The hosts were really friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. 2 of the adults hiked on the property and that was beautiful. We were able to enjoy day trips to other locations and return to the refreshing pool to get ready for a night of cards on the porch. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thank you!
The property itself is worth every cent and more, the photos do not do it justice. The walking trails and swimming hole was as good as any National park. My kids spotted frogs, birds, lizards, humming birds, and the most giant praying mantis ever!! Plenty of room for everyone. You wake up to the sound of birds and may have a few friendly geckos in your room. It was hard to get to… the roads were rough, but once you got to the ranch with friendly dogs and hosts who will also cook for you poolside in the mornings and evenings, you will never want to leave. We were worried about the heat, but with fans and windows open during the day - it was totally pleasant by night time.
My family of 5 stayed at Markus' farm in Parrita for 3-days earlier this month. This property is even more beautiful and peaceful than the photos suggest. My whole family thoroughly enjoyed the stay, especially our 5-year old twins who fell in love with the animals (especially the deer) and stunning, waterfall fed swimming hole that is just a short hike from the cottage.
The farm is set in the mountain jungle, with a beautiful ravine view right out the front door of the cottage. The cottage itself has all amenities and is set in a very private area away from the main house.
In order to fully relax, we took advantage of the meals offered for both breakfast and dinner each day. Every dish Markus prepared for us was fresh and delicious!
Thank you, Markus, for such an enjoyable stay. We hope to be back some day!
We spent a very special week at this gorgeous farm tucked away in the jungle. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The gorgeous poolside outdoor kitchen and lounge area had everything we needed and ended up being where we spent most our time. We started the week with a wonderful guided walk through the wild part of the property and a swim in the beautiful natural waterfall pools. Our host told us all about the flora and fauna in the area. We fell in love with the three friendly dogs. We rode the horses and gathered eggs from the chickens.
We were close enough to day trip to beaches and Manuel Antonio National Park and to have gorgeous sunset dinners at some of the many wonderful restaurants in town. Our host was warm and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this place. It was a unique and wonderful experience!
Absolutely gorgeous property! We loved everything in there, even our teenage daughter put her Ipad aside and enjoyed pool, nature, horseback riding. There are 3 very friendly dogs at the property, they will keep you a company if you go on the trails. Trails are very well maintained and lead you to the private waterfall and swim ponds (river).
Lots of tucans and other birds on the property, you just sit by the pool and watch them fly and sing.
The cottage where we stayed has everything you need for cooking. Or you can order delicious breakfast and dinner to be served by the pool.
I would highly recommend this property for nature lovers who want to stay away from hustle and bustle of touristy areas.
I hope we will be back one one day! We missed it already!
Jungle/Ranch setting was perfect start to vacation
Nestled in the hills above Paritta, a great Jungle ranch/farm. Nice guesthouse, great pool, very helpful and friendly host, and wonderful friendly dogs that loved to hang with us, especially Ellie. Nice trails in area, and although road was a little rough getting in and out to property due to rains was a very convenient location but far enough away to really feel the jungle vibe.
Our family enjoyed our stay at Hacienda Mil Bellezas very much. We stayed in a guest cottage on the hacienda. There is a pool and "rancho" very cloae a covered outdoor area with a sitting area, a large dining table and a full kitchen and grill.
We spent hours at the pool and made use of the outdoor kitchen and dining area for every meal. The cottage itself is spare and rustic and doesn't get much light so preferred to hang out at the rancho.. The grounds and are beautiful and the children enjoyed playing with the friendly dogs and looking at the horses. We did a guided jungle tour with Markus to the waterfall on one day. We were close enough to Manuel Antonio to easily get to the beach. The hacienda felt very remote but was close to all conveniences
We had an AMAZING stay! The house is tidy and well equipped, but the setting is the star of the show. The outdoor pool area was perfect for meals and card games, the kids enjoyed the pool, and the trails are truly outstanding. The waterfalls and swimming pools a short walk away can’t be beat! Marcus is a kind and hospitable host. We fell in love with the property, it’s been a highlight of our trip. Thanks for having us!
OMG i don’t have words to explain how amazing is this place !! We stayed a weekend with my husband and our 8 year old, we did horsebackriding also and the experience was beyond incredible!! The house has everything you need for cooking, clean rooms and you will sleep with the sound of nature! Markus is the best host ever !! He will make you feel like you are at home. Any word or description could not reach the wonderful experience we had here! We hope comming back soon! ♥️
We were fascinated by the idea to stay on a farm and were not disappointed after we did it. The host was wonderful Austrian man who was so accommodating and friendly that we hardly wanted to leave the property at the end. We had breakfast and dinner the two days we were staying there and I should admit that were very delicious meals. The place was extraordinary clean and so well maintained. I would go there again without hesitation.
We are a family of 4 (2 kids: 9 yo and 6 yo) and spent the first 4 nights of our vacation here. There was so much to do without even having to leave the property. I loved the privacy, quietness, and the natural beauty of this property.
My husband and son went on an ATV tour, arranged with Marcus, and said it was excellent. Marcus took us on a horseback ride tour on the property, including a stop for a swim in the river along the route. There is a nice network of trails to explore, and Marcus was very knowedgeable about the animals and trees on his property. We went to Manuel Antonio one day; it was an easy drive. The dirt road leaving the property was quite flat and well maintained.
An added benefit was being able to have dinner and breakfast on site. The meals were delicious and were more than enough food.
The kids enjoyed the pool, which has a view that can't be beat. They fell in love with the chickens and carried them around the property. We nicknamed their "favorite" Chicken Stewart.
This place was a win-win for kids and adults. It was quiet and relaxing, but with more than enough activities either on the property or within an easy drive. The kids were entertained and would have been happy spending entire days just exploring their surroundings. Marcus excelled as a host, and eveybody we encountered on-site were friendly and welcoming.
Because of time restraints our stay was too short, but the time we had proved everything we required was easily available and if we revisit the area again we will be staying with Markus on this beautifully layed out property.

Great mountain farm house!
My family of six stayed in early April. The three bedroom was cute and fresh and clean. The road is gravel and bumpy in places but easy to drive. Just far enough away from town to be quite and peaceful. We opted to have Marcus take us on a guided hike to learn about the fruits and trees of the area and a fantastic waterfall/swim on the property. Saw a poison dart frog, he squeezed us some fresh juice of the cashew nut tree fruit. Has all the amenities you will need. There was even a baby deer my 8 year old son got to bottle feed. (So cute) He has a couple of dogs that would come and visit occasionally that we all liked to pet. We had a great time! Great host!
