COVID-19 has changed how we travel, but it hasn't done away with our appetite for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to navigate travel's new challenges:

• Before booking your flight, see if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Stay informed with the latest updates by reviewing official government websites.
• When you pass through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it to verify your identity. Those who refuse to wear a face mask may be denied entry or boarding.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it straight on the reader yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now allowing passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• To minimize handling during the screening process, place items such as your loose change and phone into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• If you're planning to take food through the screening checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
