"We were hosted by a welcoming farm couple to the upstairs bedroom and private bathroom in their home. Beautiful farm village just 5 minutes drive from the town of St James where we could shop. "What an unexpected treasure Château de La Ballue. I had booked this stay while touring the Normandy beach landings for just one night. What a shame we were only there for such a brief time. "From our arrival to our departure, Eric the host, could not have been more helpful. The property is easy to find at the end of a small lane with extensive grounds. Eric had prepared a list of recommended restaurants in the area, which is helpful. The room was quiet and spacious. Breakfast was great, with everything being supplied by local producers, which is great to see. Would stay again - thank you! "

"This place was awesome. All of us including the children loved it. House is located in the picturesque countryside in Brittany not far from mount St. Michel. It was clean, organized, newly renovated, and well equipped. All beds were comfortable including the pullout couch. Restaurant and grocery store close by. I wished we could have stayed longer."

"We spent 3 days in the "cowshed" room at Le Bois Gautier. The accommodation was very spacious with a full kitchen and a large bedroom and bathroom upstairs. We received a warm welcome from the new owner Bill who had prepared a log fire for our arrival, this made the accommodation very cosy and was a great touch. Bill had also brought some snacks/breakfast for us. The place was gorgeous, and very quiet, being in the middle of the countryside. It is located about 30 min drive from the scenic town...

"Bought groceries in the am....went out for the day. Came back in the evening to cook dinner. Unfortunately the refrigerator wasn't working. The meats we purchased were warm. We had to eat ramen noodles for dinner. The owner was very responsive and quickly replaced the refrigerator. "

"Probably my fault but I didn't realize deposit had to be in cash. So had to scramble to find ATM to get $300. Then checking out they doubled the cleaning fee on us. They didn't provide toilet paper or dish soap and had to go to the store to buy some. Would have been nice to know there was no toilet paper before going to the bathroom."
