"La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day.
There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening.If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "

I ordered a bottle of wine and they sent another that was 3 times the price without telling me.
They threw us out because they said they had to set up for breakfast while they had other tables still sitting. We were still drinking our wine.

White plastic stained chairs. The flags that hang outside of the property are ripped and should be replaced. In my country it’s a disgrace to see a flag like that, The unit smells like mould. "Sizable villa perfect for our 3 families. The house had everything we needed and the views were amazing. We cooked a lot. The pool is a decent size for swimming. The village is quiet. The road access isn't for the feint hearted, the climb is steep and there are lots of blind corners, so we chose to get home each night before dark at 9pm but it didn't put us off - we liked the seclusion. Great area of Italy to visit Lucca and the surrounding hill top villages and towns."
