Great stay and view, but the smoking...

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First time staying at the tidewater and we had a wonderful weekend.Celebrated my husband’s birthday and the place was nice. The elevators were a little wonky and only 2 out of the 6 worked. We didn’t have to wait to long, but I can see during busy season it will be a problem. It was a little cold to swim in the ocean or outdoor pools, but the hot tubs and the indoor pool was nice. Overall we had a great time. 10/10 would recommend.

But on the other hand the elevator's were horrible anywhere from 15 to 30 minute wait, ridiculous. Plus no bell hops, have had bell hops at all our other resorts, but not this one. No ice machines on any floors. And the tiki bar should be out near the beach so ppl could hear the music and enjoy it like we were able to down at Myrtle Beach.

The view from the balcony is amazing, the bed is comfortable, the kitchen was equipped with the necessary items to cook, and the air conditioning worked well! Yes, the elevator situation can be frustrating but don’t let it deter you from booking this rental, they were working on improving the situation during our stay. They appoint staff members to help with the elevators during peak hours, but we found that if you utilize them during non peak hours, wait times are little no nothing. I would book this room over and over again.

It had all we needed towels, utensils, plates, cookware, etc. and it was clean. It had an amazing view of the ocean and beach from the balcony. 100% nothing wrong with the room or its amenities. We had 5 people and the condo had plenty of room for us. The only issue and it was quite annoying is the elevators. It was not uncommon to expect a 10-15 minute wait when it is busy (~9am-7pm). If you are ok with that then this is the place for you.

In desperate need of repairs

Our room itself was fine. The AC wasn't working when we arrived, but they had us flip the breaker and it started working again. The big issue is the complex itself. It's very old and shows it's age. Most notably, the elevators. Not only are there not enough of them, they are routinely out of service. The one in the parking garage and one of the ones in building on our side were out the entire week we were there. So you had to walk up and down the stairs in the garage every day. Then it took an average of 10-30 minutes to catch an elevator. It was crazy! They actually tell you at check in that it can take up to 30 minutes during peak times. This morning, all 5 main elevators were out. We walked down to the very end and finally found 1 that was working. The gates in and out of the parking garage were also broken all week.
