By far one of the best places we have stayed. Literally within walking distance to everything!

Condo was very clean and comfortable. Loved the beach service. This will definitely be on our list to come back and stay. So relaxing and saw beautiful sunsets every single night.

Valentine’s week stay was excellent!

We loved the condo- decor was beautiful and there is a sliding glass door to the balcony in the bedroom. The only downside was that the kitchen wasn’t stocked well- just the bare essentials. Overall, though, it was a wonderful stay - we will be back!

Great getaway !

My husband and I have stayed at calypso for years and this is the best condo by far. It was clean, the decorations were simple and cute. The bed is soo comfy and that’s usually one of our biggest issues with vacation! No carpet is a perk too ! Can’t wait to come back again!

Great time!

We enjoyed this condo. It was just big enough for our little family of four and located right by the elevators which was convenient. It was clean. It had plenty of seating on the balcony, comfy beds, smart tv which the kids enjoyed, and plenty of dishes/appliances for convenience. The only negatives were the ice maker did not work (though there are ice cube trays which was helpful), and the lighting in the bathroom is very dim & no light on the balcony. We had a great experience, though and love staying at calypso. We would definitely book with these nice folks again! The communication was great and they answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly.

Pictures are deceiving

The location of this condo is fantastic and that is why we booked here. However, the pictures of this unit are deceiving. It was so dirty. I'm not sure the cleaning crew did anything after the previous renters were there. Our overall impression was that someone went into their closet and pieced together the kitchen appliances, dishware, flatware, glassware and decorations. We have stayed in Calypso before and will again, but will not rent this condo again.

Worth it

I thought staying on the 18th floor would be terrible, but the view was totally worth it. And being that high prevented us from hearing people on the beach or at the pool!. The speed of the elevators makes accessing the 18th floor simple and fast too, so don't worry about that. Speaking of elevators, the door to this condo is in the same area where people access the elevators. I thought this would be a problem, but I cannot recall one time in which it was. The location is great. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and activities. My only complaint is that the shower had mold/mildew along the base.

I was under the impression that all Of the paperwork was done digitally or through my email and then got an email stating that I needed to print off a copy for my vehicle dashboard, this issue needs to be addressed because I had done already left for my trip. Im not sure how you or this company expects me to print something off after I’ve done left… seems a bit odd to me that this wasn’t addressed much sooner than was explained. I was very happy with the stay and the property! Will book again through this company but the problem about e needs to be addressed. Thanks

Decent but could be better

The biggest con was the check in process. It was a nightmare. It was our first time to visit the Calypso and were unaware that the condos were divided east and west. To make it worse the numbers on the units do not say ‘east’ or ‘west’ instead they say 1 or 2. When we arrived we went to the right and got on the elevator and went the 18th floor and found the number of the unit and the code would not work. We spent 30 minutes calling every number they gave us and no one would answer. Eventually I called the Destin number and she was wonderful and helped! For future guests know you must go to the EAST ELEVATORS! The check in instructions do not say this. Otherwise you will be at the wrong unit with the same address. Overall the unit was cleaned but could use some updating. The sliding glass door in the living room did not open. The bathroom door in the master would not shut. The lock on the sliding glass door in the master kept falling off. The sink in the master would not drain. Only 4 towels was also sad, with a family of 4 we had to keep washing and drying towels The condos were also doing a major painting project on every floor and would block off hallways or entrances and the paint smell was very strong but that had to do with the Calypso itself and not this exact unit. Loved the location! Loved the heated pool! Loved the multiple televisions and with lots of movie options.

Good location but challenging at times

Cons: 1. We traveled from Virginia in one day and told the property manager, Best Beach Getaways, way ahead of time that we'd be late checking in. I was told that it would be fine, that on the day of check-in, we'd receive a text with the code to enter the room, and that the next morning, we could come by their office to show ID, etc. The day of arrival, they called us around 6pm and said we would have to come by their office to pickup entry code and it would be in a box outside. Digging around in the dark at 8pm was annoying when it could have been texted or emailed. Their building is not well-marked and is off-site from the Calypso. 2. We did not receive parking access information ahead of time, despite being told that we should have received an email from Calypso. At 9pm at night, we had to bother them via the after-hours number. The emails finally arrived and worked, but then the parking code expired before we checked out. For whatever reason, the code expired the night before we checked out and we couldn't exit the parking garage without the code. Very inconvenient. 3. Air conditioning in the unit died the last day after business hours and we were told their contractor was too booked to come out that evening. It was almost 80 degrees in the unit. 4. Tiki bar closed - doing renovations/repair. Pros: 1. VERY close to Pier Park and walking distance to many restaurants and stores. 2. Beachfront was great. Balcony view was as beautiful as in the pictures. 3. Unit was as shown on VRBO. Very pretty. Spacious balcony. 4. We brought our own chairs/umbrellas, so I cannot give information on the ones available for rent at the resort. But if you bring your own, be prepared to walk a bit because the ones provided by the resort are front and center.

Needs a good update!

We got exactly what we paid for. As the other reviews stated, the bed does sag in the middle and that’s exactly where you slide! The couch is very old and hard. There were no throw pillows to help with that. Once we got there, we placed a fitted sheet over the couch as it appeared very dirty and stained. When the lights are on, you cannot tell. The stove storage area door is not attached and will not shut good. There was only 2 of us but we only had 4 coffee cups! It smelled so horrible that we went back to Walmart to grab some air fresheners to help with it. It smelled old or mildewy. It is not what we are accustomed to at Calypso, but again-we got what we paid for!

It was an ok stay

I loved the location of our stayed the place it self needs a lot of improvements. It has a kitchen but not many dishes to cook with and the ones that are there aren’t very useful. Most of the places I’ve stayed atleast have salt or things for you to make coffee this one has nothing. So if you don’t plan to cook is perfect to stay at but if you want to cook make sure to prepare your self to get everything.

Spectacular View!

My wife is an all unapologetic beach baby. She was ecstatic to have such a beautiful view of the emerald-colored Gulf of Mexico. So, it was an ideal place to celebrate our 45 years of marriage! Appreciated the outdoor parking for my lifted Ram 1500 too since it wouldn’t fit in the covered parking garage. Instructions were complete if you read them which I heartily recommend. And the king-sized bed was fabulous; we slept like babies on it, even with my bad shoulder! Now for some minor suggestions/upgrades: 1. Need brighter lighting in bedroom and living room. 2. Install more hooks on backs of doors b/c there was no place to hang wet towels or clothes. 3. Provide 2 large bath towels for each guest instead of only one. 4. Tell guests to bring their own beach towels. 5. Install some throw rugs—at least three—to absorb moisture and any fine sand particles that made it past the foot showers coming off the beach. These are little things that I feel most people might really appreciate. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience!

Very nice complex

Calypso is a very nice place. Disappointed that you had to pay an extra $50 for parking. The condo was clean but a drawer was missing in the dresser and the bed and the pull out sofa were not comfortable at all.
