Took my quadriplegic husband and caregiver to High Pointe for our 34th wedding anniversary.
I knew there was a ramp to beach but was unsure if pool was accessible for my husband.
There is a website that advertises the pool as “handicap accessible” however we found that it is not. (It was not High Pointe’s
website.)
I had already rented an electric beach wheelchair for my husband so I knew we could get him to beach even if we could not get him in the pool.
Unit was clean and just as described. View was incredible - overlooking lagoon style pool and the Gulf!!!
There was not an ice maker in unit or on property for your stay so make sure you buy ice and put in freezer.
Shops and restaurants literally right across the street.
Overall, we had a really great stay at High Pointe and enjoyed it!
If you have a family member that needs a wheelchair to get to beach, make sure you rent an electric beach wheelchair as it is quite a steep ramp to get back up to condo…it would be difficult to have to push a person in a manual wheelchair up ramp.
Also, it would be great if homeowners association put a hoyer lift in for handicap individuals to be able to get in pool and enjoy the water!
