"I loved the retro vibe of the Golden Host. The front desk staff were friendly and got us checked in quickly. Parking close to our room was easy, however the parking lot is kind of confusing. The room was well equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The room was clean but you can see the age of the building here and there. The floor was peeling up in spots and there were areas of drywall that could use some work. Didn’t really bother me but notable. The AC was cold and worked well. The bed was a little too soft for my liking but others may find it comfortable. There was tons of storage space if needed. The bathroom was small but clean. At night we could hear kids running and yelling up and down the corridors but not the fault of the hotel. The pool area was nice, we unfortunately didn’t have a chance to enjoy it. Overall for the price I think this is a fine place to stay for a few nights if visiting the area. It’s close to many of the attractions."

"We stayed at the RumFish a few years ago and had such a great time, we decided to go back. Unfortunately, there was confusion with the rooms. When we stayed a few years ago, I booked a standard room. The room we stayed in was beautiful- on the ground floor, with a sitting area and kitchenette. Long story short, I booked a standard room this time (thinking it was the same), however it was not. It was a 250 sq ft room on the 3rd fl next to the garage. Apparently, the first time we stayed, we had rec'd an upgrade...which was awesome, but no one actually told us that. I discussed the confusion w/ a few different RumFish staff including Reservations and the front desk, however they weren't able to upgrade us. Well, they would upgrade us, but we would have to pay a lot more money. Had I known, I can't say I would have gone back...especially for what we paid. Anyway, overall, a good trip. You can't beat the location. The beach, water, activities, etc. Also, a perk that 2 beach chairs and umbrellas are included. Housekeeping was quick to respond to a broken drawer that stuck out in the room as well as when things were needed. The beach bars were great and handy to get snacks and lunch at. Also, it's nice that you can use the facilities at TradeWinds as well. I wouldn't go back for the price we paid for that standard rm though."

"Very nice location. Great staff and facility. Close, convenient to attractions in area. Shuttle was a great option for when we didn't feel like walking. Beach was lovely! Beach umbrellas were pay to use. Ac in older rooms was loud. Would recommend a stay."

"Nicely update room. We stayed in the 1 king bed suite, had a double balcony on the top floor. Great beach views, good amenities, easy access to the beach and other restaurants in the area. They are building a new pool/bar/restaurant and that didnt even bother us, nice they are upgrading on the beach."
