Our Palm Coast residence holds a unique position as one of the few homes that border the largest turning basin in the Palm Coast canal system. This provides us with the luxury of overlooking approximately four acres of water, where dolphins play and penguins dive, ensuring there is always something captivating to watch beyond just another house across the canal. The neighborhood, known as Sailboat Country," is conveniently close to the intracoastal waterway. Plus, less than 10 minutes to the beach, shopping, dining, golf and many watersport options.
The expansive basin serves as a perfect backdrop for relaxation and leisure. Large hedges line both sides of our property, creating a very private atmosphere.
The entire back of our home is dedicated to covered recreational space. Here, you will find a spacious dining table, a barbecue, a settee surrounding a gas fireplace and a TV, and a bar area with stools and more. In addition, there are chairs and lounge chairs placed around the pool for ultimate comfort, and of course pool toys.
One of the highlights inside the house is the beautiful, mitered kitchen window. Washing dishes is far from a chore when you can look out and see the pool in use, people kayaking in the basin, guests enjoying the outdoor seating, and the diverse wildlife that frequently visits--all from one vantage point.
Our kitchen is thoroughly stocked with a wide variety of utensils, bowls, and cooking tools, as well as a gas stove. The utility room is an added convenience, making it easy to pack lightly and do laundry as needed during your stay.
For those looking to enjoy more than a view of the water, the property provides three large, stable, sit-on-top kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard, perfect for exploring the basin and canal system and making the most of this waterfront location. We also found a boat charter company who will pick you up at our dock for a sunset cruise, shopping in St. Augustine, fishing or just sight seeing, he even plays the guitar!
Check out the Cape Canaveral launch schedule, we have driven out to the beach and watched the fire ball shoot into the sky from here.
European Village is less than 5 minutes away with many dining options, shopping and live music. Mezzaluna Pizza even delivers. The closest beach is a 10 minute drive but many beach options are near by. Bings Landing offers a free boat launch, pick up of rental pontoon boats for charter, a lovely park and Captains BBQ, you won't want to miss. Flagler Beach offers more amazing dining and shopping options with a vibrant night life.
Too many golf courses to list, over a hundred miles of paved bike trails and numerous types of watercraft rentals, from Backwater Cat Adventures, where you pilot your own "go-kart" on the water visiting Palm Coasts amazing eco-system, jet skis, and pontoon boats or be picked up at the house await you. Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is a serene, and stunning formal gardens as well as a playground.
Palm Coast sits equally between St. Augustine and Daytona. St. Augustine, first city in the U.S. is one of my favorite places, the ancient architecture, the Castillo de San Marcos fort tour, St George street for shopping and dining makes this a memorable adventure for the whole family. The Alligator Farm and Marineland are kid favorites as well. Daytona offers a great tour of the Daytona Speedway, a shuttle lets you actually walk on the track and step into the "Winners Circle". The famous boardwalk where the original speedway was on the beach is another highlight. All of this is less than an hour from the house.
A little farther away but still easily done in a day is Cape Canaveral tours, Disney World, Silver Springs State Park with glass bottom boat tours viewing manatees, several of Florida's incredible underground springs, alligators, turtles, and many types of birds. Palm Coast, Florida and our house will not disappoint!
