"Wonderful location just a few steps from the cathedral. The rooms are simple but very nicely furnished; some with spectacular views from a balcony. The breakfast room on the top floor offers wonderful views (including of Mount Etna) and outside eating. The staff could not be more helpful or nice. There is an elevator, but it is necessary to negotiate some stairs as the levels are split. So enjoyed being right in the heart of the city. Since the windows are all double paned, the noise of the street does not penetrate."

"The caretaker was wonderful and so friendly. When our arrival was highly disrupted by Etna spewing ash causing our flight to be diverted to Trapani causing us to arrive at 6am instead of 10pm, he was very welcoming and reassuring throughout the process. The rooms as comfortable and could be made quite dark, cool and quiet to enable us to sleep even if it was from 6am-12pm or going to bed closer to dinner time (8pm) than night time. The location is also unbeatable for walking access to lots of different areas (both the city central and less touristy spots. I would absolutely stay here again. The only reasons I don’t give this place 10/10 is the bed was not the most comfortable (but still comfortable enough) and the shower was a bit tight."

"My husband and I just want to say thank you to the manager and front desk receptionist for their service helping navigate our situation due to our flight cancellation out of Catania. They went above and beyond and we are very appreciative of their hospitality. The hotel itself is on the older side, but still very nice and within walking distance of the Piazza and all the restaurants."

"Overall experience was very good. The suite was unusually decorated, large and clean. It was at the front of the hotel and there was some residual noise from the street. AC was good and housekeeping was efficient. It’s in a good location for Via Etna, Piazza Duomo and other spots and very close to a host of bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful when I needed to interact with them. The breakfast buffet was adequate but not in keeping with the style or ‘sense’ of the hotel. The restaurant struggled to keep with the demand of a lot of guests having breakfast at the same time. There was very little information about the services in the hotel. Nothing in the room or advertised around the hotel. The gym was very small."

Was expecting more Sicilian fare for breakfast, catered too much to North American diet. Not a deal breaker as delicious pasticceria on the street corner. Has so much potential as the courtyard is charming. Overall would recommend. Felt welcome and well looked after. Thank you!"
