"First thing I had to do was clean off the air conditioner. It was full of dirt. The floors were not even swept. The bathroom was clean and the sink was clean and there were clean towels. The bed was clean and comfortable. The air conditioner was off and it took several hours to cool the room. The only staff I saw was the man who checked us in. "I lived in Port Lavaca for 30 years and had to come back to help a family member. All my years living there I never thought I would be staying in what was the old Viking Inn. The new owners have really fixed up this place. Room was super clean and staff were so friendly. Don't expect a lot for this price but do expect a very nice and simple but very clean room and facility. I love small boutique type roadside hotels and this is one. "
