This was a lovely B and B on the direct bus route (5-10 minutes) into Oxford city.
Ashley, who manages the place was great, very friendly and helpful.
The room was pleasant and cosy, and the en-suite clean and modern, if a bit tiny.
A terrible stay!!!
The day we arrived at Five Miles is very hot. We soon found out that it’s even hotter inside than staying outside because no air conditioner, no fan, and no screen door or window!!!
But, it charges a higher price than a four-star hotel! Crazy!
The other crazy thing is that there is no duvet cover. That means they do not even wash their quilt and blanket. Don’t know how many people used the quilt!!!
As a B&B, they even don’t decorate their house a little bit. No flowers, no decoration at door as well as at back yard . The patio chair is dirty. So wired!
The only merit is that the breakfast is good.
Overall, terrible! I will never go back!!!

Good very warm Ashley and caring good breakfast and comfortable room
We had a great stay at the 5 mile. The rooms are very small yet newly remodeled. The service is great, the staff is friendly, great breakfast and park your car free and take a bus to downtown oxford, where there is no parking. We love Oxford, be sure to take a tour and find one of several rooftops where you can view the town. By the way, a one day bus ticket is good 24 hours, so you can go back and forth as many times as you want. Find the pubs where the BBC cast of Morse and Endeavor used to hang out.....get a pint or two. Join a church service with Choir at the Christchurch Cathedral.....takes you back 100’s of years.
We needed a place to stay for the night near Oxford and it made an ideal stopover. We were told by Expedia that the room would be 269 square feet, but it was only about 100, so much smaller than we had expected. However, it was comfortable, the staff were friendly, and we could park the car!

Big price for small room
Good location with bus stop near by. Best breakfast I ever had. Lorraine was very attentive and provided much needed information. Room was typically small with small bathroom and tiny shower. No room to unpack and no dresser.
Guest House is about 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Oxford by bus. Bus stop is just steps from Five Mile Oxford. Room was clean. Ensuite was extremely cramped but serviceable. Breakfast was very nice. Manager allowed us to leave our rental car at the house while we took the bus into Oxford as parking is very difficult in town.
The room was fine. It wasn't very big and I wasn't sure where the EZ bed would have fit had we needed it. There was a comfortable chair, which was great. Breakfast was very good. We were advised not to drive but to take the bus. That was fine for going into Oxford, but not for going to Blenheim Palace as it took much longer and there was plenty of parking there.
Lovely overnight stay at this delightful guesthouse; Immaculate, cosy and comfortable! And very well looked after by the attentive Loraine! Only 15 minutes to Blenheim Palace by car. Will return sometime! Thanks. Yeter and Lee

Does what it says on the tin
Bit impersonal at first - no staff to greet, just note & a key - but improved after first breakfast. Bathroom facilities all new & clean & quite adequate. Meals satisfactory and beds comfortable but main road location means lots of traffic noise if using a front room..
Have stayed here before. It is good value for Oxford and convenient for regular buses to the city centre. Breakfast is good and Lorraine is a great host. An annoyance was that the lighting in the bathroom is still in need of attention several months after our previous visit. To a degree the room we had would benefit from a refurb. But overall it is great for a short stay and Lorraine does a great job looking after the guests. Did I mention that the breakfast is great?
It is a nice place for you to stay. Also it only 10 minutes far from the citycentre. Bus stop is near the hotel. The transport is quite easy even you don't have car.
Idea hotel for a few days in the Oxford. Lorraine was very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Great breakfast. A short bus ride to the centre of Oxford.. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and family.
Nice property. Lorraine the house manager very friendly and helpful. Sink a little small to use without making a mess but small issue. Within walking distance of some really nice places to eat. Recommend Joe's diner. Breakfast freshly cooked to order and very good. Bus services very regular if you don't want to walk.
We were greeted by Lorraine and she made us feel very welcome. On the hottest day of the year (28degrees) she had put a fan in our room and opened the windows so it was relatively cool. We were also offered fresh cold milk for tea instead of UHT and the room had a fridge. These touches made all the difference. The room was nicely decorated and even had a suitcase stand(rare in smaller establishments). The shower room was small but very clean and functional. The bed was comfortable. The b&b is on a busy road so do expect some noise but the bus route into Oxford is so easy and stops so close that this compensates for the slight noise. The breakfast was freshly made for each person and served with a smile. It was good quality and with a good choice. We had stayed here before the refurbishment and found the improvements really good. It is excellent value for money.
Great value for the price, friendly staff and good food!

Great for short stays and near good transport
The room was very clean and tidy but on the cosy side. Would be fine for a weekend or short stay but was a bit cramped for us as we had large suitcases as we have been travelling for some time. The room was reasonably quiet as it was at the back of the house. Good bus service very near. Breakfast was traditional English style and cooked well.

It's ok
A convenient location. Rooms pretty cramped. Nice host and good food.
We stayed here because we wanted to visit Blenheim Palace when Country File Live was there and to visit Oxford as well. The location was brilliant for doing both. The hotel has off road parking which is a bonus. When you go through the front door the decor does look a bit dated and the stair carpet has seen better days. The bedrooms are very nice tho having recently been refurbished, It was also nice and clean. Breakfast was good, freshly cooked to order and plentiful.
The hotel manager is a lady named Lorraine, who is very obliging and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome.
I would have no hesitation in recommending or visiting this hotel again.
we where made very welcome on arrival by lorain and given fresh milk for the fridge. the room was at the side of the house with noise from the busy road also the bathroom was very clean but on the small side. nice breakfast in the morning
We stayed in the deluxe suite, as the other rooms were fully booked. It was very comfortable, spacious, appeared recently refurbished and had outside seating in the attractive rear garden. Breakfast was excellent and Lorraine, the manager, very attentive and helpful. Being Oxford, it wasn't cheap, but we received great service.

Over night stay in Oxford
The room I stayed is a bit small. It is difficult to turn around in the bath room and the basin is very small. Other than this shortcoming, the stay was ok.
