Great stay in perfect central location. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The garden restaurant has great food and atmosphere. I would recommend to get breakfast outside the hotel at the bakeries just round the corner.

Disliked: Staff & service
I could not check in the hotel.
It was closed. I called by telephone, but I couldn’t talk with anyone.
Fantastische ligging, schoon, vriendelijk personeel.
Nice stylish hotel in very good locations. Rooms are quite old but very clean and cozy. Breakfast is perfect in choice and quality, lobby bar with jazz music is just what you need after long day. Beds and pillows are very comfy.
Alles , incl.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Top Lage, total Zentral.

Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
Overpriced, hot, noisy and terrible service!
Upon arriving, there was a work crew pressure blasting paint off the building. It was loud & directly below the 1st room we were given, so we asked to be moved. Our new room was quieter during the day, but it was near the employee smoking area, so cigarette stink often wafted into our "nonsmoking" room. Also, in the evenings, noise from the restaurant disrupted our sleep until the wee hours. Calling reception to ask when the party in the hotel-owned restaurant would be winding down, we were told that cities can be loud. When we pointed out the noise was from their own restaurant, they said they'd speak to a colleague & call back, but no call ever came. We needed to be up early, so closed the windows & suffered a restless night in a VERY hot & stuffy room.
Speaking of heat, we weren't expecting AC in a 17th century building, but one might expect a 5-stsr hotel to provide fans automatically. We asked for a fan & were given one that was supposed to oscillate but didn't and which broke the 2nd night of our stay. We had to buy a fan that we'll donate before flying home.
Checking out was unpleasant; the receptionist just brusqely said bye. No, "How was your stay," etc. Then, when waiting for my car, she asked where the fan was. I told her we put it in the hall after it broke.
On the positive, the breakfast servers were pleasant & the food was good. However, good breakfast in a beautiful building cannot outweigh the absolutely awful service!
The hotel fully met my requirements for this trip. I was a loan traveller and was provided with a sensible single room. The property is very close to the museum which was the prime reason for my visit to Osnabrück.
The room was well furnished, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom was excellent.
The hotel is a wonderfully, half-timbered, historic structure in the heart of Osnabrück’s altstadt, hemmed in by narrow streets and adjoining properties.
I therefore expected, and accepted, in advance, from reading previous reviews, that it would be noisy at night; this was all the more so given that I was there on hot weekend nights in the middle of July, a three day beer festival was in full swing and it was clearly also the height of the wedding reception season!
Cutting some of the noise out by closing the window was not an option as there was no air-conditioning in the room. I also understood this, as installing the equipment would likely be impractical and unaesthetic in such an old property.
So this was very much a case of adapt to the situation, get out and enjoy the summer evening in a pleasant and interesting small city, live and let live!
Finally, a major plus is that at breakfast time you are confronted with a magnificent spread! It really does make the appellation ‘continental breakfast’ in many UK establishments a complete joke!
The quality, freshness, composition, generosity and ambience of breakfast at the Hotel Walhalla is an amazing experience!
