La Villa dei Gourmets
3.0 star property
Foggia
7.2 out of 10, Good, (27 reviews)
"I usually do not write bad reviews. We arrived at 3 pm, the owner was clearly bothered by our presence. He wanted to retain our Ids until the next day—a no go. The room had a temperature of 35 degrees and the a/c did not work. Our complaint was answered tha a/c only is available between 6pm and 5am. The hotel is situated in what looks like a war zone. Dilapidated buildings galore. The pictures and descriptions do not represent the reality. You would not walk outside in the dark. We left for...

"Il personale è di una gentilezza incredibile, sia prima che durante il soggiorno. Abbiamo trovato la location senza problemi, è stato utilissimo il garage. La stanza era molto pulita, arredata wow - molto bella e con degli effetti speciali :) La colazione è stata servita nella sala eventi, la ragazza molto gentile ci ha servito la tipica colazione italiana: caffè - brioches - succhi a scelta - acqua. Location caldamente consigliata!"

"The hotel was easy to find on a main highway. Inside it was dark with stairs to climb and long hallways. The room was very small but comfortable. The restaurant was could be fixed up to feel more appealing. Not a great selection for breakfast. Staff was friendly and anxious to help. It was a good stop after traveling many hours. Parking was poor and limited. A good rest place in a rural environment and view. Why do I need to give such a long review. I have nothing more to tell you. Bless you,...

NSM Hotel Cicolella

NSM Hotel Cicolella

8/10 Good
"The Hotel is located near Foggia Railway Station, it is good location especially when we arrive late at night by train, the breakfast is excellent with a lot of selection, the staff is helpful and kind. The restaurant for dinner is well decorated but however the prices are not competitive in the area. That why it is quiet. The Hotel is old with 102 years, the furniture in the lobby, the bedroom and bathroom are outdated, it needs completely renovated and updated into modern electric switch and plugs. How you imagine that you don't have the shower curtain, you have portion of marble curtain. However it needs a lot of investment, I don't think family owned business owner would like to invest the Hotel for future business. According to my opinion, it is not 4 stars Hotel, it should be 3 stars Hotel.Don't give me wrong, the bedroon is big with a lot of space."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ordona?
The best area to stay in Ordona is the historic centre, particularly around the Piazza del Popolo.

This central area offers a traditional Italian experience, with narrow, winding streets, historic architecture, and local shops. The Piazza del Popolo is the heart of Ordona, where you'll find the main church and often see locals gathering in the evenings. It's a compact area, making it easy to explore on foot, and provides a genuine feel for the town's heritage.

For couples seeking a relaxed and authentic Italian getaway, staying in the historic centre is ideal. You'll be close to traditional trattorias serving local Puglian cuisine and have the opportunity to enjoy quiet evenings strolling through the ancient streets.
When is the best time to go to Ordona?
The best time to go to Ordona for pleasant weather and fewer crowds is during late spring (May to early June) or early autumn (September to October).

During these months, the weather is typically warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the historical sites and enjoying the local cuisine without the intense heat of mid-summer. The olive groves and vineyards are particularly picturesque during these periods, and you'll find a more relaxed pace compared to the peak tourist season.

For those who enjoy a lively option and don't mind warmer temperatures, July and August offer a full calendar of local festivals and events. While it can be quite hot, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, this is when the region truly comes alive with cultural celebrations and seaside activities if you venture towards the coast.
