"I picked the hotel due to the name (LOTR triggered!) then saw how reasonable the price was and booked. Did a little research and wow! what a location! I arrived quite late due to the flight times and the staff could not have been more attentive or helpful. Several times they courteously and patiently assisted me during my stay with directions for trams and recommendations. The housekeeping crew were excellent and unobtrusive, and the reception were absolutely delightful, nothing too much trouble for the flustered and obviously English tourist. I am hoping to come again next year - cant wait!"

Great location—very close to 4 of the 5 tram lines, easy walking distance to many sightseeing spots, and lots of great places to eat. Responsive staff. Very clean facilities. "The room. Was very comfortable, and our view was beautiful (we were lucky, because some just look upon other rooms. We had 416) the hairdryer (theirs) blew up in my hand after I plugged it in and caused a fuse to blow for half the room. We called to the desk and 3 seperate occasions someone came to check on it. It was fixed promptly and I was given a new hair dryer for the room. (Brand new in box) There is a lovely pool with very nice jets. No hot tub though. I find the lack of them in Germany, overall, a headscratcher since its so cold. I guess they just love their nude saunas more? The location was amazing. Center of everything. If youre American and dont like German or French food, you may have trouble finding a decent restaurant. The breakfast was good though. They offer cook to order eggs or omelets. Parking is in the public parking garage only and is 30Euros daily. (24hr from when you enter, not calendar day) Lack of response from their hotel text app. I assume the mini fridge items were complimentary. Beers, colds, and water, as well as kit Kat and small peanut container."

"This is absolutely not a 5 star hotel. I have no idea who gives ratings for this hotel, but i was disgusted by the awful sewage smell in the hallways and the rooms are dated, with terrible furniture and configuration. Breakfast for €35 euro was nothing short of ripoff and had the worst food selection i have seen in French hotels including terrible, tasteless pastries which France is famous for. I dinned at their fancy restaurant which is looking to get their 1st Michelin. I must see the chef needs to learn a few things about cooking… food was horrible. The only thing i enjoyed was the service of the professional gentleman waiting on me and the amuse bouche they served. That is it. The main courses were terrible and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. €180 wasted. "
